Yesterday someone said they had figured out the math... that based on 18 starts, 100 pitches per start (in reality it will be more like 85 to 90) divided by the 18 million he's going to be paid, comes to $10,000 per pitch.
So those of you who hate the Yankees, when you watch a game in the presence of Yankee fans, can now count his pitches out loud... "Ten thousand dollars! Twenty thousand dollars!"...and so on.
Please note I have not done the same math for Dice-K, though I suppose someone will.
