I was looking at Festools yesterday (sanders and circular saws). They're damn pricy, but they seem pretty sweet. Anybody have any first hand experience? I like the splinter-free cutting and the dust removal features.

Here in Oz, they're among the most expensive and considered among the best- a bit like Bosch. (I haven't afforded any yet!)

I didn't search long enough... i didn't find anybody who was unhappy with festools, so i think i'm gonna take the dive and rack up some debt. i'm tired of wrestling with my tools.
Anybody want to buy my Bosch jigsaw?

I have a collection of Festtools, the local woodworking store went under so I bought everything I thought I might use.
The plunge saw and guide is fantastic, it is very safe and my shopvac collects all the dust. The drill gets used all the time. Since I have a CNC router, I have not used the jigsaw much, but it seems to work fine.

I know they have custom blades but I have not bought any yet. The standard blade seems to work well with MDO and HDU and MDF. I have not tried acrylic or aluminum yet.
I will buy a Festool sander when my current one dies.

I'm sold on the dust issue. I've got a small shop, and anything I can do to eliminate dust, setup, and cleanup makes me more productive.
I just watched their demo video and I think i'm going to get their heavy-duty sander. It can handle heavier materials - like Corian. I've shied away from those kinds of materials because I didn't have the tools to work with them... but I think there is some good market oportunities there with sandblasted signs.
