My logo has a lightbulb which has a light yellow radial fade so that it appears to glow. When it fades to a white background, it works fine in Corel, but occasionally I have it on a multicolored background and in those cases I've brought it into photoshop in layers and have done the fade there. This of course has to be saved as some type of bitmap.
I'm now doing an ad for the yellow pages and if I give them a tif or jpeg, they only use 200 dpi. I'm afraid my small text will look too mushy, so I'd like to give them a vectored file.
This is what the fade looks like in Photoshop:
When I do it in Corel I basically have a solid white circle with a yellow fade. Does anyone know how to fade one color to transparent?

Yup, you use the Interactive Transparency tool, its icon looks like a wine glass.
Select the "IT" tool then at the top of the screen you can change the options, make it radial.
One word of caution, unless the yellow pages uses CorelDRAW too, they won't be able to read a Corel file with a transparent fade in it.

Hiya Tracie, Use the interactive transparency tool. In Corel 12, it looks like a wine glass with a drop shadow and it's shared with the interactive blend tool. If your toolbars are set up the way I have them, you have the option to select several different patterns and options in the drop down menu.

Thanks, I'll give that tool a try.
I actually plan on giving them an .ai, .eps, and a .pdf just to be safe. I usually send a few different file types when I'm working with a new outsource just to be safe. They'll give me a proof so I can check and make sure the effect is working.

Ah yes, now I remember that tool as I'm trying to work with it; I tried that one when I was first designing my logo. The problem I'm having is it starts with color on the outside and the transparency is on the inside of the circle. I can't figure out how to switch them.
I have the disk for an old version of Illustrator (7 I think). If it can be done in that program, maybe I should load it. Anyone know?

When you have the the IT tool select on the far left of the bar is a button to open the fill dialogue. Reverse the back and the white(white= 0 transperancy, black=100)
