On Monday, I had a Peterbilt dump truck in my shop. It was waiting to be picked up. Well,, I had another one, Freightliner coming in at the same time. I wanted to get the Pete out of my shop before the Freightliner got there. So I jumped in the Pete and started it up. I called my customer, the freightliner guy, who was on the way. I asked him, Hey Dave, where's reverse in a Peterbuilt.?" He told me usually you pull the stcik shift to your leg and then up. So I did it. I backed it out of my shop. Turned it around, and pulled it out to the front drive way. So now I'm a truck driver.

You go girl! I do that quite often too. But my brother drives big trucks, so he taught me to drive them long ago, when I'd take a ride with him occasionally. They are cool to drive.

I worked as a midnight shift dispatcher at a trucking company about 14 years ago. A mechanic that worked the same shift taught me how to drive the tractors and hook them up to the trailers. A few years ago I had a customer drop off a nice Peterbilt to get lettered. I lettered 1 side and decided the other side was too hot in the sun so I got in and turned it around. When the customer came back to pick up his truck he said "I could've sworn I parked the truck the other way." I messed with him for a little while before telling him I moved it.
