Hey guys. Every day something new gets thrown my way. This one is quite different from what I'm used to. I have a customer who needs some outdoor glass corkboard cases with locks. Is there a dealer for this type of thing? A dealer that deals below retail? I can't help but wonder if she could buy them herself for what I could get them for. I have found some online but they are ridiculously expensive. Arrrrghhh!

Don't spend too much time chasing your tail. Propose to her what you found at a decent markup and see what she says. She could say yes.

Who did you find?
Did you call or just go nby the retail price listed?
Try VIS COM in N.C.

Try United Visual Products, Inc. www.uvpinc.com I think I discovered them at the Long Beach Sign show. You get 50% off their list prices. They have all kinds of enclosed bulletin boards, pedestal stands and other products. Call about their dealer program.

The only supplier that I know of is Ticket & Tablet... Haven't used them in years, but they are still around.

Here's a link to a PDF from Great Lakes Specialty Products PDF File the boards use Homasote instead of cork. Prices are pretty reasonable.

Hope it helps..

...It looks like alot of good sources have been provided. Perhaps you could just refer you client to them and let them deal with purchasing and getting them. Then you would not have the worry this kind of stuff and could just make the signs.

Perhaps you could get the catalogs from the companies mentioned, offer your client their price options, get the job, and make $300-400 with a phone call or an email and some coordination.

Outsourcing - a great thing.

Don't forget to add in shipping and sales time to the estimate.

You can still keep doing signs too.

Say you don't get this one...you'll be ahead of the game the next time someone comes asking for the same type of product.

BTW - Custom ordered items are paid for...IN FULL - IN ADVANCE.

I have two file drawers full of outsourced items. Easy money once you get the hang of it.

Good Luck....

Stanco out of Santa Ana. They have a lot of selection on the cases and cork.
