I've got a bunch of municipal vehicles to stripe with edge-printed reflective. I was using tape for my "guideline" but heard of another shop in the area that uses a rotary laser.
I hadn't thought of that before, but although I want the stripes straight, I don't want them level with the ground. I assume you can adjust the angle?
Does anyone here use one for striping?

We have a rotary laser, and I've thought of using it in that way, but never have... on ours you can adjust the angle.
I'm going to try it next time I need to do a lot of graphics on a vehicle...

I use a dot lazer for striping over the road tractors and have used a rotary. the ones I used were self leveling another note for you.....red lazer does not show up on black vehicles....

Thanks for the replies guys. I still dont know if the laser would be a good investment just to do striping. Looks like a decent one will cost $500-$800.

We have a cheap magnetic laser level that we use on vehicles. It is a bit difficult to o since it will hit only high spots but it will give quick reference points.
