Hiya Steve, How powerful is your computer - RAM, hard drive space, video drivers, etc.? What software do you use for design? Do you have a server or are you on a network? I'm fairly sure that most of the current software won't run on a win98 system, so you should seriously consider upgrading your system or look for some used software. The only RIP software I've worked with is Onyx Postershop - www.onyxgfx.com It worked well for running the Encad printers I worked on. But there are many different programs out there. Check out www.wide-format-printers.org for more information. I hate to say this, but some of the info appears to be dated, so it may be helpful.

there is a RIP for encad printers on ebay right now, its up to about 60 bux.. I' would look at it myself if I needed one.

I may have a set at my house, I know I have a stack of Encad floppies with a rubber band around it, I'm just not sure what all it includes. Best of all I'm right down the road in Roanoke. I used to battle/use one of those NovaJets years ago.
