Hi everyone. Has anyone had any experience with Inktek inks? I'm afraid to buy them because they don't say eco sol Max, they just say NAtural Eco Solvent. Also, do you have to flush the system before using them?

Thanks
Felix

Felix,
I am not familiar with these inks but I would get a hold of Jerry VanHorn. He has been using some other ones.

Felix,

Let us know what you find out. We've had our VersCamm for about 4 months now. Would like to consider other ink options....

Is there something wrong with the roland inks?

just wonderin'

there's nothing wrong with the roland inks...some folks just feel the need to save some pennies i guess. i personally don't want to mess with trying to figure out profiles etc. for the small amount i'd save.

I just got a versacamm a couple weeks ago.

The ink prices seem very reasonable to me. (After paying around $300 per color on a six color hp printer...it's a nice change)

So far, using their profiles, it's a pretty close wysiwyg from screen to final print.

No, in my case its not really the money, its the service. Its much easier for me to get generics. My Roland dealer's service just plain sucks.

I called Inktek yesterday & the tech guy said I could use them even without flushing the system... (I think) I could barely understand the guy.

On the other hand, Splash of color in TX sells both Roland AND Lyson, & he recommends flushing system...

You be the judge.

It's more than a small amount that you will save. We use Triangle Inks with refillable cartidges. The package came with a new pump because the inks are stronger than the regular Roland inks. IT BITES HARD!! You can get ICC profiles from www.printingdigital.net I use one profile for almost everything. That profile prints TWICE AS FAST as any Roland profile I've had at 720dpi.

We get one liter bottles from www.hascographix.com

ask for Bob Lee.

I can't complain about Roland Ink...very pleased with the Roland printer. Saving money is saving money. Especially if it offers perhaps longer/more durable outdoor life....

Jerry,
I am going to check out the Triangle Inks. Are you using Versa Works for RIP?

Mike

I am using ColoRip. We have had our VersaCamm for 3 years now. I love it.

Big question....by using the other inks, will it void any warranty issues regarding the pump assembly or any other parts?

Posted by Jerry VanHorn (Member # 4704) on :

It will void most warranties. Our machine only had a one year warranty and was going on two years old so I jumped at the chance.

Jerry,
Tell them about not being able to rip off the color after immediately printing.

When I ran my first print with Triangle inks I took it directly from the printer and tried to wash the ink off with PPG DX330 prep solvent. It did not take one bit of color off the print. I then took the same solvent soaked towel to a print that was over a month old with ROLAND INK and it washed the ink off immediately.

also, it dries faster so you will not have as much trouble with prints sticky together as it wigwags out of the printer.

BTW

I am in no way affiliated or paid by TRIANGLE INKS so these are honest testimonials.

Jerry,

do you print everyday? does your printer sit for more than two days at a time? No problems with dry up....

Ours will sit for 2-7 days without printing anything.

How often are you clear cloating or laminating?

(I know ours should be printing everyday! Still have to cut vinyl once and awhile....and sometime go outside and work.)
