Customer wants Dibond over MDO (don't ask) What would be the best way to fix the two together - there's no folding so I'm thinking some kind of adhesive. Silicone? Epoxy? Do you think there would be any expansion/contraction issues between the two materials (4'x8')?
Any advice appreciated.

I've laminated both sides with Dibond and haven't seen any expansion issues yet. I don't know if one side only would cause a problem.
We use Gorilla glue, laminate to both sides, clamp to dry, then route or cut through all to get a flush edge. Seal and paint the MDO edge as you normally would.

Dave,
If I told you, I'd have to kill you

why would you not use aluminum instead of Dibond....it would be a lot cheaper and just as good.....

5 years ago, I put a new aluminum sign face (.040") over an existing MDO sign. I cleaned the MDO with 440 Wax and grease remover and used 3M high bond Tape! It is still there, with no signs of coming loose! I agree with Boone. Why use Dibond???

Because the customer is always right. If you use aluminum is it big enough that you might have trouble with oil canning? I say use roofing screws, that way he'll be able to see it is on there good and he'll have confidence in the project

They want Dibond because they want the colored finish (Blue) to exactly match their other signs...(and the cost isn't an issue)
