I was very sad to hear the news this morning. The Godfather has had his share of problems the last few years, but if you ever saw him on stage in his heyday, you know what real soul is all about. I've been a huge fan since I first saw him at the Township Auditorium in Columbia SC about 40 years ago. After that, I never missed a show when he was in town. I've never seen a performer since who could whip a crowd into a frenzy like "the Hardest Working Man in Show Business".
For the uninitiated, here's a clip from the TAMI show - I get goosebumps when I watch it. http://youtube.com/watch?v=USTilaOqNHM Posted by Rick Sacks (Member # 379) on :
Jackie Wilson worked the crowd rather well also. Farewell JB.

He was a man who was imitated by many but none ever attained the charisma and soul he had on stage. When he shuffled his feet, people would howlll! Bless him and his family.
