Been trying out the latest beta of the infinitely cool Firefox browser and really liking it.
The history command on the top is a nice touch. If you've opened up several windows, it remembers them all. Much handier than clicking the back button. If you've inadvertently closed a window, it's still there to click in another.
A built in spell checker! As I type this, little red lines similar to a word processor highlight the errors as you go. Neat if your on BBs like this one or use web based emails.
Most of the popular Firefox extensions work with it and the ones don't tell you and don't install, thus keeping problem with incompatibility from popping up.
so far...I LIKE! Rapid

Yes,, this open source hit is a good one. I remember when a few were saying that it was a fad and that virus writers would exploit it. However, the exploits simply are not there.
This along with a few others are comming along with some powerfull features. The big name authors are still using the "snob" factor trying to keep us from taking a look. OpenOffice.org has a really good offices suite. And there is a couple of FREE Photoshop clones that are making a mark on the photo manipulation arena.

Ray, I may ask you to give me some pointers on Firefox when you get here, if we can find time. I have 2.0 but am not entirely comfortable with it yet.

Thanks for the update Ray- but I'm using version 1.0.7, and under the <go> drop down menu are the last 10 pages/sites you visited, and below that is HIstory where you can click on any site you've visited over the past 2 days. It's been quite handy since I found that there.

Firefox is awesome, even if it does crash everytime I go to a Flash website.

I have had nothing but great luck with Firefox... All I use any more... I'll have to download the new version.

I love the tabs feature in Firefox. Way better than having multiple pages open. When I want to go to the desktop, there's only one page to hide instead of multiple pages.

How do I load the new version and keep my bookmarks? I think their instructions say to delete any previous version before installing the new one.

Hiya Rick, You should be able to open (manage) you bookmarks and export them as a HTML Bookmarks file and save them someplace safe. Then you can do what you need to do to install the new program.
Havin' fun,
Checkers

Is it me or does 2.0 seem to load slower than 1.5x?
