Hello All, I have a copy of Flexi 5.7. I have loaded it on a new computer that has Windows XP. It loaded fine but when I try to open the program it say it can't read the dongle....Anyone know a remedy for this? Thanks in advance for your help.

Do you have the dongle?

you have to get a newer dongle driver,,, one compatible with XP

Hasp drivers I believe they call it??

but, correct me if I'm wrong here, I don't think 5.7 is XP compatible. I remember that being the reason we had to upgrade the program.

It's not compatible. I love version 5.8.2 and even had a senior programmer at SA helping me try to make it work. It will install but it won't run. I keep an older Win 98 box available with 5.8.2 installed on it and just carry the dongle to it when I want to use it. Slowly learning to live with version 7.6.2.

There's a MAJOR jump from V5 to V6 or 7 but once you get the hang of it going back is like working in the stone age.

I'm using Flexi 6.4 and have put off upgrading the work puter because of the horror stories I've heard trying to get the software to run on XP. Anybody know if it works, will I need a new dongle driver?

I just had the same problem. The error message came up that it did not find the hardware key. I was told I had to upgrade to the newest version which I did. Again got the same problem. My dongle was older and I had to get the driver from here. http://www.safenet-inc.com/support/index.asp
BTW, they told me that XP compatability started with version 6.
I hope this helps.

I'm using 6.6v1 with xp and a usb dongle. ( Vinyl Express Master )
I did have to download and install the updated hasp driver and it works fine. ( been a while, but it seems like I had to install it a couple times to get it to work )

You can't run it in compatibility mode? Just a question as I don't have flexi

Or you can set XP up to dual boot, back into win-98 just to use flexi, but that's a bit of a bore.
