I have been "collecting" over the years several odd size pieces of two-sided MDO board. I always think that I will use them for some small signs one day and never seem to get an order for one.
I hate to throw good MDO boards away, but they are starting to pile up. I have small 1'x2' pieces, 2'x3', 2'x4', some 1'x6' or 8', etc. Most or cutoffs from 4'x8' panels that were cut down for different shape and size signs.
Any idea what I can use these for? I already have plenty of shelves in the shop. I'd like to make signs out of them obviously, but what?
I also have scraps of aluminum (white and colors)Dibond, plexiglass and Sintra plastic. I guess I just need some clever suggestions to turn my scraps into something profitable and to save a landfill. Painting or vinyl ideas will be appreciated.

Small example signs. How about house numbers or "The Luck Family" examples for your shop.
Try new techniques on some, and showcase specialty vinyls or paints.

Make some mini duplicates of 4'x 8' you have done for clients to use as samples to show to potential clients or just hang in your showroom. We often have new clients come in and look around and say I want a sign just like that one. After you ask a few questions you will find out they want something different but the sample sign is a good way for them to start to describe what they want.
I should be the one to make this suggestion! I must have a 100 pieces of offcut boards in the bin just waiting for the day I get a roundtuit.

Christmas is 6 months away. Plenty of time for house numbers and mailbox signs for the family an friends.
My family always look forward to that unique gift every year. I always find a good use for falloffs. Just a little time invested and some scrap materials and they usually end up w/ apretty nice gift.

Have a Letterhead meet! All of my saved up scraps are being cut into usable panels, painted, airbrushed etc. Got the idea from Pat Welter at his first "Paint the Prairie, so the folks at "Letterheads on the Lake" won't have to spend valuable time doing backgrounds. MUR

Small weeding table with a 2X4ft self healing mat.
Thinner scraps can be used when installing posts to position them when setting in concrete.
Layer artwork on small pieces to create a 3D effect.

Make a table with them. Stack them one on top of the other, finished sides together. Then after it is the height you want it, put a piece of thick glass on top. You could also make end tables or bedside tables with them. The different colors would add a little zip to it. If you didn't want the glass top, you could use wood or anything else that meets your fancy. Wish you were closer, I'd love to make a table out of them. It would be heavy but very stable.
