Hi all, Just wondering if you all are up for another panel swap? ...or is there too much going on work wise? I'd be willing to look after the details if we get enough participants. How many would be in it?

I would join in, Sarge. Though you probably won't get too many this time of year.
bump!
Posted by sarge (Member # 1022) on :
Yeah Ron... the time of year might be a problem.... lets see how many would want to commit...if the numbers aren't there we'll try again later...

I've been itchin' to make a panel so I say why not. As a matter of fact who needs a panel swap.
Posted by Kelsey Dum (Member # 6101) on :
I've never been a part of one of these and would love to... Count me in!
Posted by Cpack (Member # 2011) on :
I hate to sound stupid but what is this all about. Please explain.
Posted by Ray Rheaume (Member # 3794) on :
Cynthia,
Panel swaps are a common custom at live Letterhead meets. Here in Letterville, there have been several online swaps, many with themes.
The coolest part is you never know who's doing a panel for you. I have swapped with people from Canada, Sweden, and even "Joisey".
Count me in! I haven't missed a panel swap yet. Rapid

I'll add to the "international" participants.
Mine will go "snail mail" though. Last time I airmailed a panel to Canada it cost me over $50!
How about a State or National theme? You will get a kangaroo from me

As there seems to be a lot of first timers wanting to have a go, why not a free for all?
Posted by captain ken (Member # 742) on :
I am in for the free for all panel theme. my only suggestion would be that people some craftsmenship, not quickie stickies

But Ken, that would eliminate some potential participants.
I have hand painted some, printed some, and vinyled some. I don't think any of the recipiants cared.
Hell, I even made a sign box for one joker... who stiffed his recipiants so I made a panel for that one, too!
I am in.
Posted by Michael Boone (Member # 308) on :
I would be in..but my recipients seem to like to smash my panels....
Posted by Harris Kohen (Member # 2139) on :
I'm in!
No food will be harmed in my panels either
Posted by Stefanie Fox (Member # 6523) on :
I'll give it a go!
Posted by sarge (Member # 1022) on :
So shall I consider you in Mr Boone? I promise no more panels will be broken.... why not get whitey to help ya? Like Bruce says...we aint eliminating anyone!....the more the merrier....if you only do vinyl....no probs....show us your best!.... It's always great to give and receive a panel, no matter what its made of..... even calligraphy is ok...now.... to theme or not to theme.... lets get some participants that don't normally join in.... you know who you are! Don't make me name you... Lets make this the biggest and bestest yet!

Roger, you are itchin cause the Dixie meet was moved from March to November. You didn't get your spring fix, but it will be a great one in October.
Posted by Roger DiNofa (Member # 2781) on :
Donald,
Now I did go to Fred's But since my first meet was at your shop in Laurens, Dixie has become my favorite. Now that Rapid Ray lives in Georgia I'm wonderin if he's taken any lead out of his foot. LOL
Also since Dixie was pushed back y'all have pushed Hogtown back. I'll just have to pop over and visit Mr.Ogden this summer.
Tell Ryan That helmet trim he sent me worked out great! It was a bitch getting it around the goggles and I'll not be taking the trim off around there again and wish I called him before I started that Project! Oh well live and learn.
To tell ya the truth I'm not sure where Ill be in October but hopefully I'll see ya there.
I noticed my e mail address isn't posted here so here it is Sarge when you get ready. r_dinofa @yahoo.com. Lookin forward to this one. Roger

I got stiffed on getting a panel a few yrs ago and think I'm ready to giver another shot This might get me off my duff and make me break out the airbrush for a little practice - which would be a good thing. I know I can do that squiggly pinstripe thing like Grandpa Dan
Posted by Kelsey Dum (Member # 6101) on :
As far as theme we could all do a panel dedicated to our favorite cartoon/comic character...unless you don't like cartoons...but who doesn't like cartoons?
Posted by sarge (Member # 1022) on :
Looks like we might be gonna do a panel swap... early numbers look good... see how many more we can get after this weekends meet. Still want to see some of those that don't normally join in... Now.... I'll come up with a theme and all the details etc and we'll have a swap!! Can anyone throw in a link to previous swaps... never did learn how to do that stuff! LET'S DO IT!
Posted by Kelsey Dum (Member # 6101) on :
Waaaahhhhhooooooo!!!!! Let's do it Sarge! If you hurry up on a theme, those of us that didn't get to go to Lodi can get a head start. Besides, I need a good Memorial weekend project.
Posted by sarge (Member # 1022) on :
I'm heading out of town for 3 days...I'll be visiting Bushie and looking at land and other stuff.... lets keep this bumped and see if we can make this the biggest, bestest panel swap yet! The more the merrier
Posted by Jill Marie Welsh (Member # 1912) on :
Hey Donald...I finished your windowpane panel in Scotland...I just need to mail it. I would prefer an original theme...what's so great about copying a cartoon character? I know that there STILL are a few stragglers out there from the other swaps...so either put up or shut up. No excuses. I still say it would be neat if there were just one word or phrase, and we all had a different take on it. MAybe "IOAFS"? You know you can count on me, Sarge. Love....Jill
Posted by Kelsey Dum (Member # 6101) on :
It's just an idea...a more vague idea would be good too.
Posted by Dusty Campbell (Member # 4601) on :
I'll join in the fun.
Posted by Sheila Ferrell (Member # 3741) on :

How 'bout yer send me a sticker or somethin' with your signature and mabey the date you pained that panel, 'ey mate??

Hi all Back from my little trip and dinner at Bushies place, thanks Jon and Sue... and of course the little foot muncher... Thanks for the birthday greetings... Sheila...I'm sorry ...I'll fix the prob..hehehehe
It looks like we will have enough people to do a great panel swap, but.... we need more!! Any of you guys that were at Lodi or anywhere else over the weekend please let me know if you want to get involved, the details of the theme, and for want of a better term, the swap rules, will be posted on Friday my time, that will give enough time to get some more people involved.... just post here saying your in.
Any of you guys who can paint squigly lines or airbrush incredibly realistically or make new signs appear to be old.... join in... the more the merrier.... I can't wait..

How about this idea, loco logos! Where you recieve someones name and you make up a comical logo for them and or shop and you can make up a funny slogan also. You could do serious ones also but it could be fun. Just thought I'd throw that idea in the mix. Roger
Posted by John Deaton (Member # 925) on :

Dan, I saw some of the letters that you left at the Precision Board booth in Orlando. They were really nice. I hate that I had just missed you. Kelly and Dan Hanson said that you had just walked off a couple of minutes before I got there.
