Looking for some oval sign blanks. Either dimensional or flat. Anyone no if there is a supplier who carries such a thing. If not, I forgot the trick I used to know on how to lay out an oval. If anyone can refresh my memory on that, it would be cool also. Thanks all.

We use an oval compass when laying out large ovals. For small ones I just cut scrap vinyl lay it on the substrate and cut around the edge.

You can do it Daves way or send me an email with how many you want and what material and we can cut them on our router for you.

Thanks all. David, that's the trick I forgot. Thanks for refreshing my memory. Jake, what's an oval compass. I'm thinking I'll just cut one from some MDO I have laying around - now that I know how to layout a perfect oval. I want to do a CF Martin logo in gold leaf as a birthday present for a friend who's a Martin guitar freak. Trouble is, time is short and I'm buried in work so I was hoping to find a precut, pre-primed blank to save me a little time. I really appreciate all your responses.

There was a company in Salem MA tham made and sold an Oval compass I will try to dig it out and post a picture sometime. It had tracks that you would lay on the substrate than a long bar that held the pencil with to moveable pins that rode in the tracks it worked great, but like I said I usually cut scrap vinyl or mask to use for a pattern now.
