I painted my first sign for money in 1973. That was a long time ago. I should be able to retire soon, shouldn't I?

Gary I'm hoping to make this one! Have to see how things play out with my next surgery. I do have a friend that lives in Lexington - that's about a half hour away right? I could stay with her. Would be only my 3rd meet and would love to see Karyn again too!!

Extending my trip would involve postponing my son's wedding in North Carolina. Think all the families would go for it?

Posted by Bob Rochon (Member # 30) on :

Rick Just bring them along. lol

Posted by Harris Kohen (Member # 2139) on :

Rick you NEED to explain to them that this important portion of your family NEEDS you to visit that specific weekend. Also if they come with you I would bet they would have agreat time too..

Where Else can you find a Pimpillac

Have all my family commitments at beginning of month ... band stuff the weekends before and after ...
really want to go,
not looking forward to 7 hour drive alone ... so, drag the boy along (no, he asked)

any other young'ns attending

Posted by Harris Kohen (Member # 2139) on :

Mark Bring him along!!!

Unless I stand corrected by the hosts of this meet he is surely welcome.

Your son is one of the best behaved kids at any meet I have attended. He also has talent with a brush.

Yes of course! we have always welcomed kids of all ages, with the understanding that younger kids be supervised around the paint. As far as teens go we have had a few in the past, at MM3 we had a 12 y.o. kid who walked around quietely watching everyone, then I caught him out behind the building pulling stripes on a panel... we got that kid back inside and under the wing of Allan Johnson and Kenny Jacobs... some young talent has shown up too, this kid came in last year must have been 19, he blew us all away with his portfolio, incredible airbrush work, his name was John Huff, you will know that name in a few years, he was unbelievable, he teamed up with bruce Deveau and they did an incredible gold leaf job together. Of course, there is Gump, Rapid Ray's son, this kid at 15 has been to more Letterhead meets than alot of folks here and has been taught how to pinstripe by the best of the best, where was Tramp Warner, Allen Johnson, and Art Shilling when I was 15... man what a lucky kid, and his pinstriping is top notch too.
I hope that Andy (who is 13) comes again this year, this kids was total into the whole Kustom Kulture scene, he lives near Mike and Jay Zee and Mike has taught him to stripe, and he can draw... like Ed Roth style cars and stuff.
Also, I spoke to a young artist from NY who is thinking of coming (14) he does some odd lowbrow art, very interesting stuff.
Gary is handling registration so I dont really know who is coming, but I am sure ther will be someone around his age.

Looking forward to meeting you and some other new folks and all the old MM regulars (you know who you are)

less than a month now.... ummm....Kim Z can we get the countdown, 30 days, 9 hours.....

I just finished up a couple of big gym floors out of state and finally I'm back in town. The shop is high and dry and I'll finish setting up the last few things tomorrow. Friday 8am the party starts!
All the hotels in my area did well in the floods
and the roads to the shop are open. We were very lucky, the rivers came up real close but no damage. My back yard is normally 250ft from the Shawsheen River but it came within 20ft. of the house! Waters are all going down and the sun is going to be out for the meet they say!?
Hope to see you all real soon.
