I've thought about aquiring one for a while now and started asking the hardware stores to keep an eye out for one.
I just figured it would make life so much easier. I have seen electric ones and air powered ones. The air powered ones seem to be what I'd like to spend, just don't know which ones are better.

I had an old used one for years. Rarely use it. Then I downsized and got rid of it.

Then again, if you hire someone who's prone to Epilepsy..........why would you need a paint shaker ? Posted by Jill Marie Welsh (Member # 1912) on :
Redneck shaker: Fill washer with an off-balance load of dungarees. Add detergent, close lid. Meanwhile, put yer paint on top and wait for the Spin Cycle. Also fun for spicing up your love life, just replace the paint with yore Missus. Love....Jill

Bob,
Call a few body shops and have them keep an eye out, too. Most keep extra paint from small jobs around and have shakers that accomidate up to 1 gallon cans. Once in while you can snag one.

I have one for pint cans that I bought at a yard sale for 50 cents. It's a cheapy that fits on an electric drill, but does a good job.

Ask at your local paint store. Alot of the bigger stores such as Sherwin-Williams have been forced to go to the totally enclosed mixers because of insurance directives. They may still have the older open type shakers sitting around. I found one here in El Dorado that way.

I've had an old "Red Devil" single can shaker for 25 years. It's indestructable, and I can't imagine being without it.

I want to buy a shaker also. Paint chemists have told me that you cannot get paint thoroughly mixed by hand shaking or stirring. A shaker will make your paint last longer, flow better and dry faster when mixed properly.
I've been looking at one of the air driven shakers.

I have a Red Devil two can shaker as well, I replaced my old Red devil single can shaker about 5 years ago. I don't know where I would be without it.

For years I waited to pick up a good deal at one of the paint stores and finally gave up.
I would encourage anyone who's interested in a Paint Shaker to look at Harbor Freight. They have one for about $125. It hooks up air and works great. I've had ours for close to six years. I think this is the one PeeWee ordered.
