When I am painting murals in public I constantly hear folks comment that they can't even paint a straight line. Little do they realize I can't either... not even close. But I don't tell them that.
The skill and precision (after years and years of painstaking practice) I demonstrate with my wiggly line technique absolutely baffles even seasoned professionals.
After much thought and a lot of time drawing up a detailed curriculum I have decided to teach a hands-on course in WIGGLY LINE PAINTING FOR THE PROFESSIONAL while in Lodi. (I had to do something to keep me busy while patiently WAITING for Jay to finish his maquette).
The course will cover all aspects of SPEED mural painting including layout, color blocking, detail colorings and of course WIGGLY LINE PAINTING. I will also teach basic heckling skills on field trips to Jay's mural.
The course will be offered FREE to EVERYBODY who wishes to help me with my mural. And since the mural is ONE HUNDRED FEET LONG there is plenty of room for lots of folks to take the WIGGLY LINE PAINTING FOR THE PROFESSIONAL course.
And there is MORE included in this WONDERFUL FREE OFFER!
Anyone who wishes to take the course (and help out on the mural) will be provided with a FREE wiggly line brush (which they can take home)... custom designed for this purpose... LIMITED EDITION and embossed with GOLD! (I'm not sure if the gold is real) The GRAMPA DAN'S WIGGLY LINE BRUSH is bound to become a collector's item or at least be a cool souvenir of your adventures in Lodi. I'll bet even Jay will want one!
After the course you can go home with the confidence to paint WIGGLY lines and still have people think you are gifted.

See you in LODI!

Pee before you go take Dan up on his offer. Then you'll find out why his lines are squiggly.
As a side note, we have already been in contact with the Lodi Fire Dept. and any and all hecklers will be squirted with high-pressure water hoses and washed away like the trash after Nawlin's Mardi Gras.
Skilled straight line painters wanted - inquire here on the BB. Any race or natioanalit'eh accepted (even Can'ehdians).

I'll be there Grampa Dan.....I could use some additional training in "the" technique.
Too bad the kangaroo chaser can't make it over....he's a fun little monkey to work with!
I'll try not to disrupt the class by sitting in paint this time!
Live from Vermont....it's Wednesday night

Rod, the brushes from "this side" won't work down under. The paint will run up your arm.

Where's Lodi anyway?!?

Oh, it just east of the Bay area, southwest of "The Biggiest Little City in the World" and north from the city of Angels.

Dan, I'm still interested and plan on attending as long as I can pee. How do we "sign up" for the wiggly line class? also any thing else I need to do to join in?
Posted by Jay Allen (Member # 195) on :
Forget it, Mike. He won't let you pee. That's how he gets the squiggly lines.

Welcome to the team Mike!!!
I'll be getting a map from Tony of the mural locations and I'll probably post it here... just so nobody who wants to help me out doesn't accidentally get lost and mistakenly go to Jay's mural. I suspect he'll have folks posted all over town intercepting well intentioned folks to lead them astray.
I'll indicate the bathroom locations too so folks know where to find the necessarium.
I'll have plenty of brushes for folks to use... and the custom embossed GRAMPA DAN"S WIGGLY LINE BRUSHES are yours to keep if you help out. Along with the introductory FREE heckling course too.
