This week (among all the screen printing stuff) I have a 7'x5 double-sided carved sign to finish up for a shopping center.
Next week, I have a "healthy" sandblasted sign for a church. Along with that I have two 5'x4' carved signs featuring gold and copper leaf and a smalts background (my first smalts job ever, btw).
For March, I have 20 cement trucks to stripe and letter (barrel and all).
What'chu guys work'n on?

A 4x4 double-sided PAINTED farm sign. Not too keen on the layout but that's what the folks wanted. At least they didn't quibble about price.
Also have 2 clients coming over Wednesday, one for a foamcore poster for his DJ biz, and the other needs lettering for his GMC Jimmy's back window.
Gotta call another client regarding banners for a home show. And I have a few Coro signs to crank out (as usual).
Things are starting to pick up! Made $1450 last week! Love.....Jill

53 foot van trailer almost ready to leave, the next one on it's heels.... a pair of 4'X16' panels on the sign table, a pair of 3x4 aluminum faces for the sides of a garbage packer.... a bunch of short run decals for a local trailer manufacturer........ And I VOW to have my shop truck lettered ( airbrushed chrome beveled edge, of course) and striped ( temporarily until I can get into a spray booth for the REAL graphics) before the end of this month.

Concentrating on wrapping up an interior signage package for a local bookstore. No idea what's on the list after that as I just want to get this job done. Window lettering, hanging section signs & shelf signs.

Lettered a dually today for 'pressure washing' guy, while sick . . . Had'a do it out side where it only got to 49 today, . . . But, I got it done and got paid . . . .
Have a 4x8 to letter and install in existing frame, a 3x8 to letter, frame and install, some Gemini letters to install, and a 54' semi-trailer to do . . .
That's some of the stuff. Some little bitty handi-cap signs, surveillance signs, and such.
Might get more done if I was'nt burnin' up with fever and all achey . . . . . . am wearin 5 layers of clothes and can't get warm . . .
uuuugggghhhhhhh . . . . .
I'm goin' back to bed.

Today we're working on 32 5"x5" PVC fence posts, lettered on all four sides they will be used as locators in a parking lot. Also need to send off a design to get business cards printed, a 4 x 8 sign with a digital print, some Gemini letters for a church, door decals for four trucks, some coroplast signs for a rodeo, some numbers for a race car, 120 sublimated shirts, 220 shirts with cad cut lettering, finishing up a routed sign with smalts need to get that hung up, coffee mugs and beer steind for the smalted sign owner, six 2x8 banners.......jeese it's time to go home Posted by Janette Balogh (Member # 192) on :
Eighteen signs get sandblasted here this week. Yikes! Then I've got to get to painting them all! Six of them get two gradient blends each. Arg.
Some print work, some design stuff, some web consultations, installation of another dimensional wall peice, an on-site repair on yet another exterior dimension monument sign, and a last finishing touch (silver bolt covers) on a glass dimensional lobby peice that went up last week. Oh yeah, some on-site window lettering at that location too.

Well let's see....
Last week a crew of three of us went out to "Hiram Walker" distillery and set up and climbed a 300ft smoke stack to repaint the letters "HIRAM WALKER" which were stacked verticaly fromm a boatswains chair. We all took turns. Good money but scary as hell. The following week we went from Morton,Illinois to the Indiana state line to repair and repaint 7 billboards for the "Stuckey's restaurant chain. And then after that myself and another sign painter set up and painted a 40'x 150' wall for "Bergner's" department store at thier parking lot. Then thier was many tiffin panels to replace on a whole slew of billboards in town. And let me see, Oh... we had to letter 3 tanker trailers and followed that up doing 7 semi trailers for "ReJoyce" foods. They were rippled and quite the bitch to do. This is real sign work.............. No computers, no vinyl, no estimate eqip.
So is that it?

One of my projects right now includes design and layout of 3 high end custom bronze plaques each with a large granite boulder (4 - 10 tons each, about the size of a Volkswagon) to affix them to.
Project includes locating the boulders, transporting to site, carefully setting and positioning boulders into grade, then affixing plaque (easy part), etc.
Someday I'm going to write a book about this business. I'm having fun!

Yesterday we made 2 lexan faces, painted sponsors names on a 1968 Lola T-70 and printed some vintage racing decals along with some corplast signs.
Todays jobs are lettering a Mack tractor and a utility body truck for a pool company. In the afternoon I have to go to a local race shop and mask off some graphics on a MG-Lola so they can bring the bodywork to the painter.
We have been very busy with truck lettering for this time of year. Usually they start lining up around the middle of March. I think the fairly mild winter (not counting this weekends 26" of snow) has something to do with it.
