Hello, I am looking for some advise. I am designing a sign for a conference center which is 90" tall. Brushed Stainless. In the center is a raised plaque with the logo and copy. This is the part I need some ideas for. I would like it to be high end, 3D not vinyl. Maybe a cast aluminum plaque or carved slate (not sure who does this) which looked nice. Any ideas? Thanks Dan
I'd suggest a CNC carved logo, individual cut, beveled letters applied directly to the stainless with West Systems Epoxy. Though I tend to think the logo may look more sophisticated if it followed the contour of your stainless. How are you proposing to create and support this?

This is an early concept but. It would probably be made from 3/16" thick aluminum or stainless, roll formed. In the back would be a laser cut and welded box like spine structure. This would be bolted to a concrete pad. There would be a couple of tubes that would protrude through the box to support the top and bottom of the side "S" shapes. There may be a removable panel in the back to get to screws if we elect to stud mount the logo. All conceptual at this point however. See: http://keuka-studios.com/images/z-const.jpg
Would it be difficult to match the back side of the carved logo to the "S" shape?

I like the overall concept very much.
Have you considered placing Watson over Complex, instead of side by side?
The way it is right now, the main message is small compared to it's surrounding structure.
Placing the words over one another, with the logo above it, would allow the main message to be pretty much twice the size it is now. It might "balance" better.
As far as construction, you could do a nice carved mahogany panel, then clear coat it, and gold leaf the letters. If it is an interior sign, it will hold-up nicely. (I wouldn't trust it in the weather, most all clears eventually fail.

I like it too Dan. I would suggest an edge lit engraved and/or sandblasted acrylic sign similar to this. and follow Bob's suggestion on making the logo bigger. I like Matt's suggestion if you use stand-offs or studs to give the appearance that the logo is floating in front of the substrate.

Bob, I am working with an add firm (they designd the logo), I will suggest making the message larger as you recommend. By the way, I grew up in Keeseville about 5 miles away from you. Small world.
Brian, I am not familiar wth this edge lit technique. How can I learn more?
