arrrrrgggghhhh!!!!

yesterday I commented on Cam's vendor rant that I had a typically troublesome experience with the former recipient of all my sign supply business. I was still using them because my new supplier does not carry Arlon... but this last little thread of business I do with them is about to be switched. Un-returned phone calls... unreasonable hold times... unprofessional customer service... behind schedule deliveries without explanation or advance notice...

it's just not worth it! [Frown] It can't really be that hard to order a roll of white vinyl [Mad]

..OK, in their defense, if it was just the white, I might have trusted that order to one of the grunts there, but there is one individual who makes the process of dealing with that company worth the effort most of the time. & it became quickly apparant that only her expertise could close this deal. She finally became available to call me as I was starting this post, & has now called a second time to confirm the availability of the more complicated part of my order... a roll of Kapco "Holosheen" (not that this should really be all that complicated... but asking for it yesterday only brought grunts of confusion, followed by more unacceptable hold times, an unexpected disconnect, followed by... more nothing)

...well, my order is finally going to be on it's way & I need a drink. Since I pretty nearly quit drinking, I want a new supplier instead.

got any referrals who carry Arlon?

I use Denco Sales, out of Chino, CA. They treat us pretty well. I call my orders in straight to our sales rep and he gets things to us immediately. I'll get his number from the shop tomorrow.

Doug, I've had really good experience with N. Glantz (800) 273- 1878. This office is based in Orange, California. The one time I had a complaint I received a phone call from Dave, the owner, and he said Bill, the operations manager would also call me, and he did.
Edited to say that they carry Arlon.

Thank you both. I will try out both of these leads, & will let them know who sent me.

Doug,

I use them because they are local to me and know the manager pretty good. That said, I have never had a problem with them either.

Northwest Sign Supply

Hope this helps you out!

Doug,
We trade mostly with Product Sign Supply. They are either in San Jose or Sacramento. I preffer the later. The previous owners were impecable in their business dealings and as people. They were able to combine the two elements better than anyone else I've known. The current owners are business folks and price comparisons with other suppliers ofter helps you stay aware. PSS ships to a few shops on the islands, and I know that when John Chamberlin was there they even had a rep drop in to visit a couple times a year.
