What the heck would I ever do without this place? So much to say… Not enough space…
First off, I want to thank Father God for my wife, my family, my friends, and my life. I thank Him for all the skills guiding the surgeon’s hands as well of the ones caring for me. I want to thank Him for all the love and care people have shown me during this time.
Dana was my rock during all of this. I honestly don’t know if I could have made it through this without her. I leaned on her very hard and she didn’t crumble. Many of you called and let me know what I could expect from the surgery and the aftermath. So many called just to talk and I really appreciated it because it helped make the time more bearable.
Dana brought me printouts of all posts and the e-mails from everyone. It really made my day to read them and I looked forward to seeing them everyday. I have them all saved and put into a three ring binder.
I can not tell you how good it is to be home. There is a comfort in the familiarity of home. The sitting around part really sucks but I know my body needs the rest and healing time. I will be e-mailing and calling many of you in the next few weeks and such. You will probably wish I would go away… LOL!
I will never be able to express the gratitude and love that I feel for this site and the friends I have here. All the posts, phone calls, and cards really helped me deal with this and get on with it. When I was facing the surgery, I could feel the power of the prayers and well wishes generated from here. It all generated a sense of purpose and something to really look forward to. Thank you will never seem like enough. It is truly a debt I will never be able to repay.
And, yes, I can still eat Chinese. Just not as much or as often as I used to.

Everybody is being so nice to ya, Bruce---it's time to come back down to earth.
I see it took ya until half past eight this evening to get yourself to the keyboard---at least on this thread. What took you so long?----jeeeez---anybody would think you had major surgery or something. Sleep all day?
About time you got back here.

It sure is good to see your smiling face back on here again!! I haven't ever had much surgery except on my finger and my wrist but I know that getting a zipper really has to suck. I do know you need a lot of down time too so don't try and take any shortcuts there. If you weren't so darn far away I'd try and help you out with some production.
I really like the new tagline also. Nothing like being faced with your mortality to fully appreciate that.

What some guys will do for a little attention. Well, now you've got it, so get to work.
I'm sure you already know it, but you have one fine lady as a partner. What would we guys do without someone to lean on?
Just keep doing what the doctor says and get well in a hurry. Fred's is not too far off - hope to see you there. And bring Dana. Or just send Dana...she's actually the one I want to meet.

Welcome back Bruce. Now you can start looking for a tattoo to cover your scar. Maybe of a no. 12 quill, or a can of one shot. Just a kiddin'. I saw my dads chest the other day, and his scar is gone. cant even tell he had anything done. Stay safe and take it easy for a little while and things will be back to normal soon.

Glad to see you're back home. It's just amazing how short hospital stays are anymore. I've known people to spend longer in the hospital after a hernia operation than you did for this.

Bruce...your thank you note was one of the nicest that I have ever read. It was also nice to see just how many people from your letterhead community took the time to help lift your spirits. Your a good guy and I wish you nothing but the best of health and good luck in your move to your new home. We'll miss you (and Dana) and I'm sure your fine work will be missed also.
It was good to hear that you were able to get out and about a little! Maybe we'll see you on Sunday? Just don't push it because Dana, Toby, Bobbie, Sophie, Shirley, & Sara (not to mention John and Lisa) all enjoy your company!
Take care.
