i've been asked to quote some window splash jobs for an automotive repair chain. haven't really done much of this and nothing this big and i don't want to give my work away. this will probably be multiple stores and i haven't measured any of the windows. does anyone charge by the square foot? or what would be a good way to quote this out without having seen all the windows? should i just go store to store and give quotes on each? this is my first big job and i want to get off on the right foot so any help is greatly appreciated!

i wouldnt do any window work for less then $4 a sq ft.....thats what i used to charge, but givin all the increases in CODB it should be more. if you fast with a brush you can make good money at this. slow and you gaon work you butt off. i usually quote a 4' x 5' window at $100. now with all the quantity your talkin you may need another painter so dont quote it so low you cant afford help.

A resident here at Letterville has the solution for you, window splash hand painted on TYVEK paper, you get them PURO'd over, unroll and stick to windows with supplied 2-way tape...greatest thing since sliced bread I tell ya!!!

I charge by the window. Square footing it never worked out too well for me.
I have a $150 min, most jobs average at $200-$350, see what others are charging in your area to see if you are in the ballpark.
With gas prices being so high you can charge a little more these days....
See if the stores are all basiclly the same window size first before you commit to a price, figure in driving time between each store, will there be access to the window? (no obsticals like planter boxes, cars, equiptment, etc.)
Do a sample store to see how much time it takes you (if possible) or, if you have the design planned out, compare to a previous job that was similar in size and complexity.
