Bruce came home early after a very stressful morning. He called me at work to vent about it, and happened to mention the knot he felt between his shoulders, and chest pains.
Needless to say I made him go to the local hospital ER. It was a heart attack.
They transfered him by ambulance to ECMC (Erie Co Medical Center), where he is now in the Cardiac Care Unit.
He does not have a phone, and only immediate family members can visit during very limited hours.
I will keep everyone posted.
At least once he heard that Buffalo won the hockey game, he felt much better!
Thanks guys.

Dana, I'm surprised, and pleased, that Bruce had the presence of mind to call and "complain" to you about the pains. I would have taken him for the type to have just shrugged them off and deal with the pain (like I, and most men, probably would do). I'm really glad he didn't.
By the way, when he DOES start complaining later about every little thing, tell him that Gene says, "Shut the hell up!" (inside joke, people).
If I prayed, he'd be in my prayers too. Okay, I'll say a special one for him... this time. I'm using up this month's prayer quota.
BTW, we Catholics were told to pray to Mary. Evidently it frees up God, or something like that, and she would talk to Him for us. I usually skip the middle-man (woman).

My foreman had one last year at age 42. He's fine - as Bruce will be - but the diet changed dramatically and the smoking had to stop. But Bruce should be fine. Like Si said, he caught it right way.
Bruce . . . be a good boy for Dana now. She'll use that redheaded mean streak on your behind if you don't follow orders. Right, Dana?
And leave the nurses alone.

Please tell Bruce I am praying for him, Dana. Be blessed honey, & take good care of him!

Are they sure it's not Angina? The stress can easily bring it on and the knot in his back is one of the symptoms too!
FWIW, heart attacks know no age limitations and they can hit the healthiest people out there!

Bless your heart, Dana. My Best wishes for You Both.
This week has been one for amazing things. I've been diagnosed as having, in my Dr's word, "the most amazing case of spinal Arthritis I've ever seen".
Dammit! Bruce and I are supposed to live FOREVER... I just didn't know there was 'small fonts' involved with a SignMaker's Contract. You know... ;o) BIG fonts giveth, small fonts taketh away.
We're all human. And...are often reminded of that fact in ways we don't (necessarily!!) appreciate. I know I've changed my life due to my new diagnosis. I expect Bruce will do the same, too. He has SO MUCH GOOD to do yet achieve.
I appreciate that, and commiserate, but know that the health and well being of One's Self is our own choice. I thank OP for making me aware of that fact, too.
All my thoughts are with You Both, Dana and Bruce. All my best, always.

Danna, you and Bruce have too many things to do, but he has to learn how to manage so the work is not so much like work. It seems that the best solution is charge more and work less. When so busy, sift out the junk jobs and take on the good ones. The other thing is to weed out the pain in the butt customers, let them bother someone else. Tell Bruce I still want to play golf with him in the daylite for a change.
