Hi folks... News Flash! JOHN SMITH'S INFAMOUS OMELETTES! Sound tasty? They are! And those lucky Jamboree Attendees are gonna enjoy 'em Friday-Saturday-Sunday mornings! THANKS JOHN!
Also, as of today, we have 24 registered attendees. As you know, planning a meet is a complicated business. I need to buy groceries and plan meals. It's kinda hard to do when I am not sure how many folks I'll be feeding. Letterheads are famous for waiting till the last minute, and I have no problem with that, but a heads-up informal "I'LL BE THERE!" would be great. I know that there will be a lot more than 24 Heads at the Jamboree! I just want to make sure that everyone is fed. Again, the bunkhouse is full up! See ya in a few weeks. Thanks in advance....Love....Jill

We'll be there! Can't wait! We sent our $ in a while back. Maybe you could make a list of who you HAVE received registrations from and it might "remind" those who aren't on the list to get their butts in gear. SERIOUSLY, folks, it is SOO hard to plan one of these thing if you don't know how many you will have till the week before or worse yet the day of. Remember that game musical chairs? Do you wnat to be without a chair?! Think of all the things at a meet that depend on a head count! Help Jill & Stevo out here and get your registrations in. It's a little less that a month away.... (sermon over)

I'm so bummed that I cannot make your meet Jill. I'm pre-registered (to the tune of $550) for a bowling camp to hone my skills at bowling and coaching. On the way back from Ohio I have to move my son to a different apartment. He has to be out on the 20th.
Next meet for sure.

Hey Jill and Stevo,
I'll have to let you know on the 2nd. Until then we're scrambling to get football and signs worked out. My son is working for me on his first handpainting with one shot. Until now he's only coated out boards. He is supposed to work out at the gym four times a week and sell 50 gold cards to go to the senior endurance camp and earn his jersey. It's crazy busy here.

Just took my last 2 pans of brownies out of the oven, have been baking for 11.5 hours and it will be great to shut down the oven! I wanted to work now so that I can enjoy the meet later. Don't worry, Kimberly, I'll need help getting this stuff ready up at camp! I'm a total Sterno virgin. PS I also stocked up on artificial Sweetner, heard you prefer it! It's gonna be a fun time, guys. Everyone... I really hope you have great time at Jills meet. I am sure Jill and Stevo have put together a great meet. If I could, I would be there at the drop of a hat, but i am a bit of a coward when it comes to flying. Doesn’t stop me though, but i am reluctant too.... anyway, I hope it goes great, as I am sure it will and hope to meet many of you next year in Scotland and Stewart McLarens meet. Especially Jill and stevo whom ive known for a fair time now, & look forward to sharing a beer or ten with them... Go for it guys!!!

Dana, everything is under control, I even have a big jar of 3 bean salad for Brooooce. Hopefully he won't stand too close to the campfire after eating! Love.....Jill

Jill, I'm extremely jealous that Dewi will be there and not me. Hope you have a great time. Just one tip: "Eyup" is Northerner for hello. Dewi doesn't speak proper English!
Posted by Kimberly Zanetti (Member # 2546) on :
Mark, How old is Amy?
Posted by Jill Marie Welsh (Member # 1912) on :
She's my Rachael's age, Kimberly (17 or so). There will be at least 2 other youngsters there, Justis (9), and Sal Cabrera's Wesley, who (I think) is about 7. He's a nice kid. Hopefully Barb and Steve will be here....they had hoped to bring Lydia. She's a real character. I just bought a few small games for the kids today, and I have neat stuff for a kid's jammin' table. My uncle John Pat sez it's OK for them to use sidewalk chalk on the paved area in the pavilion, so we can keep an eye on the little buggers. I also bought a box and stocked it with First Aid stuff, everything from Pepto to Benedryl. If any of you have allergies, plan accordingly. This is the time of year when my hayfever kicks in, especially up at camp. Andy, I even bought some Preparation H in case Dewi is a real pain in the butt! hahahaha! Hey, I hope to see YOU next year at the meet in Scotland. Love....jill PS Bobbie Rochow, I got your registration today! Just bring yourself and your brushes, and of course, your hubby.

Posted by Alan Ackerson (Member # 3224) on :

Leaving Joisey wed., late afternoon/evening, should be there late Wed., hehe, shacking up with The Weiser.

Jill, that's a distinct possibility. I wouldn't need much of an excuse to go up to Haggisland again, it's a lovely place. I'll keep it in mind.
Posted by Jill Marie Welsh (Member # 1912) on :
Two more registrations came in today....Jason Davies and the Peaches! They sent their registration form and check tucked into a leopard-skin purse shaped like a bustier! It's right up my alley. Inspired me to go dye my hair....not sayin how or what color.... Love....Jill PS Just added scalloped potatoes to the menu for one of our lunches, for old times' sake..... Utterly no potato salad tho.
Posted by Dave Grundy (Member # 103) on :
SCALLOPED TATERS????
I LOVE THEM!!!! Make lots! Lots of onions in em too!!! That Taylor Pork Roll stuff sounds like it'd go great with scalloped taters too! How about baked beans???
I am so looking forward to this meet..Been a whole year since the last one.
(No bungie jumping for me this year though..Shirl will be keeping an eye on me! Si knows THAT eye"!! )
(Still no project planned...Hmmmm...maybe a step by step on how to renovate a computer room in 7 easy days?? )
BTW..Rolling Rock?? I might have to give it a try.

Am I the only Head here that is a bit nervous about meeting everybody?
I have 2 whole days to make a pattern for my panel, because I know it will take all weekend to get ONE accomplished, & once I get there, all thinking will go out the window!
I think we are bringing our fishing poles, but Dana, when we were buying our licenses, it cost us $64 for 2 people (trout stamp included), & the guy said that it costs more for an out of state license. Not sure how much, tho.
Where has Bruce been?
Posted by Camille Norvaisas (Member # 501) on :
Bobbie I'm nervous - at least you know HOW to use a pounce pattern!!!!! So guess I can take potato salad off my list eh?!
Posted by Ray Rheaume (Member # 3794) on :
Ah, the nerves and jitters...
Funny, usually when a meet is coming up, someone does a post for the nervous newbies. Lemme try this time...
#1 - Prepare for sensory overload. This is not a matter to be taken lightly. The mass consumption of eye candy can lead to feelings of wonderment, excitment, awe and, occasionally, a little dizzyness. Not to worry. Although it may at first be a unsettling, you will adjust to the environment and be happy.
#2 - What to bring... A paint kit if you have one, plenty of enthusiasm and questions. Letterheads who are more than willing to share their experiences and techniques will be bountiful. Step right up. Don't be shy.
#3 - Panels and pals... At meets, friendships form and before you know it, fun, creative panels begin to appear out of thin air, many that are swapped amongst friends new and old. Often these are the most humurous ones you'll see. Past examples of these are assclowns, clams with fangs, running gags, inside jokes and a wide variety of sarcastic statements on aluminum.
#4 - The nerves... Not a problem. Before you know it, strangers will become friends and when you leave, you will never be the same. It's all good.
Yup, that sounds about right... Rapid

I don't have a paint kit - any recommends as to a few brushes and paints I can start out with?
Posted by Jill Marie Welsh (Member # 1912) on :
Steve and Barb are definitely coming to the meet! Talk about Letterhead spirit! How many folks go to a meet 3 days after having heart surgery? YAY!!!!!
Love....jill

hahahaha KAryn glad to see I'm not the only one
Posted by Checkers (Member # 63) on :
Hey Camille, Don't buy anything yet! This is where you can observe, learn and get hands on experience what would be best for you. While at the meet, you'll get to see what everyone else is using. So, be sure to take lots of pictures and notes. Some of these characters may even let you test ride some of their favorite tools and toys. Most importantly, be prepared to have fun!
Cheers,
Checkers
