I need to shade some reflective vinyl with a light blue color (like the color of ice). I have some 1 Shot Speed Dry UV Acrylic Clear and some Frog Juice.
I also have 1 shot paints, varathane plastic enamel, gloss vinyl ink, Auto Air, Artists acrylics and oils ...
I'm wondering which route to try - I could spray the Vinyl ink or Auto Air colors and then clear. I figured I might get a more transparent look by tinting the clear and spraying it.
1 Shot UV Acrylic says it is solvent based - does that mean I can add solvent based paints?
Any words of wisdom, thoughts, experiences or advice?
It has to be done tommorrow.... [Rolling On The Floor]
[Thanks]

Hi Kelly I have tinted 1-shots UV clear with OneShot enamels to do drop shadow etc... so not sure how big an area you are trying to tint but it should work in both one shot or the Frog juice... is your reflective white???

Thanks Pat [Smile]
Yes the reflective is white.
That makes me feel better....
Is the dry time a lot longer than the 1 hr Clear time?
I'm going to mix some up right away and do a test.

I guess that depends on how much oneshot you are adding...but with just a light tint it seems to drys as quickly as the UV clear does...hope this helps...Pat

...Tommorrow? ...One shot makes a nice transparent blue. Prussion blue will work also. Tinting will be fine, and you will need to spray it. Experiment first, because you will probably need alot less blue in the mix than you may think.
