Implementing custom shop management system over the next few weeks. This is something I'm working on with the developer. It will incorporate quoting through production through packing slips and billing, and provide me with full reporting on every stage of every job.
We need a good name for the English version, the french version will be called "L'indicateur" ( "The Indicator" ) For some reason this works better for me in French than it does in English.

Some words I'm thinking about: MarginMax (profit) inclusive, comprehensive, efficient, exponential (it sees how things work together best under changing conditions).
I'm going to go look for the thesaurus(sp?).

I'm trying to get a mental picture of something that does this job, that everybody's aware of. I'm just kicking ideas around. Something like a good teamster that knows his horses well, or the immune system of the body. Or the nervous system, it senses every little change.
Think tank in a box, management team on software. Something clone, clone yourself, have more time.
I don't know that any of these words can be used, but it is hoped that they might spark something in someone else.
Hmmm, now I'm thinking about the way a plotter has a buffer and sends messages back to the computer to regulate data flow. Posted by Ray Rheaume (Member # 3794) on :

Why not use the same name in English and French? I don't think Microsoft or Intel are different in other countries. Keep it simple. The name may only indicate what the product is. The descriptive line will follow it.
