We're doing the Indy 500, and having a family reunion.
What's everyone up to this weekend?

Hey Nettie...Hope you have a great time at Indy and I hope it doesn't rain.
We're heading over to Michigan to letter a boat and spend the weekend with a couple that we have never met in person... .... only in a chat room that is centered around a place in Mexico that we all visit.
Should be interesting!

Working and avoiding my wifes Yard sale at all costs.

LMAO Bill.
Clay will be working as usual - so I'll probably get together with some of the neighbors for a BBQ. They have a pool so I'd suspect that it will take place over at their house. :-)
Other than that, just trying to stay cool and relax a bit.

I'll be plasma cutting, welding and grinding.
My poor truck won't know what hit it. I'm removing the tail lights and welding the holes left behind - shut.
Then I grab the plasma cutter and cut out the locations for the new taillights I'll build using LED's on a flexible circuit board that can wrap around the rear corner.
It might look something like this, with a bit more lens surface area showing towards the rear:
I'm gonna go to the Nitro Nationals in Red Bluff for the Drag Boat Championships after which I'll stop at Streets of Thunder in Anderson and lay on a few lines with the king
In real time, I just hope I have the strength to wake up Saturday morning to do the above as I have to drive to Oregon and back on Friday.

I'm attending a wireless networking class Friday and Saturday at a community college. It's a two weekend class, and last week, as part of the class, we got new Macintosh Powerbook laptops with 17" screens and 1 gig of RAM. The best part is, my work pays for cost of the class with tuition reimbursement, and I get to keep the laptop. The sad thing is I need to sell the laptop to pay for other things that are more practical. Anyone looking for a sweet laptop?

Some very good friends just moved to Awendaw, SC on the Intracoastal Waterway, so we're going down to hang out on the dock and watch the shrimp boats go by. Their next door neighbor is the guitar player for Hootie and the Blowfish, so maybe we'll get some jammin' in too.

Figuring out how to hang my ledger board on cinder block to hang my joists on for a deck. Dug my post holes last weekend ... finished filling with cement about half an hour ago.
Son gets home from a junior high trip to Washington DC tomorrow night then their band plays their first club gig with 5 other bands on Sunday. (third to last) That should be waaayyyy fun.
Committed myself to having to clean out my garage. Sure I'll end up painting something on something.

We are watching the weather, hoping it won't rain! If it looks like hit & miss rain, we might head up to Franklin, PA to camp in our tent next to a creek with Lucy Lou, our chocolate lab. Good trout fishing there.
If not, we will probably just grill out here, or worse yet.... rent some flicks & watch it rain outside!

Everyone have a safe and enjoyable Memorial Day weekend.

The boys and I have been asked to bring our guitars, mandos, and banjo to some equine get together, trail ride or something. It should be interesting.
Tomorrow I'll be cutting the grass and piddling around the yard and later in the evening we might go to a church for some more jammin'.
Carl, you're more than welcome to come by. We're in Chipley which is almost straight north of PCB. You can cross the Hathaway Bridge over into Panama City, turn north on hwy 77 and were about 50 miles. Let me know when you're coming to make sure I'll be here.

I hope to go diving with my son tomorrow morning. Tonight we had fish tacos from his prizes this morning with my spear. He also brought home a prize limit of abalone and found a pearl in one shaped like a fish.
Sunday is the alumni lacrosse game and I'm grilling tri tip for a hundred folks and then needing to dissappear for a bit to attend a funeral for one of my old fishing buddies.
Monday is work on the house day.
Perhaps Tuesday will just be a normal day???

Wayne I think I might have you confused with Joe Endicott - -are you anywhere near Vortex Springs? Rick - Cool about your son finding the pearl - I found one in fried oyster not long ago - someone told me that being cooked hurt it - it looks fine to me, have never eaten Abalone - how is it prepared - have heard it's outstanding - -

I spent Saturday morning organizing and redecorating the shop. After 10 meets and 3 panel swaps, it took Gump and me over 2 hours to hang all the panels.
The afternoon was DRUM TIME! My kit's been sitting in storage for nearly a year and it felt great to cut loose for a few hours.
Today's going to be catchup on a couple of signs and panels, then off to the bar for the night as bouncer.
Monday we're all heading to the local parade.

Had a great time out to dinner with son & daughter last nite. Then caught a late night showing of the new Star Wars flick.
This morning, took my first serious mtn. bike ride in almost a year.. Tossed my cookies about half-way, took a real nice tumble down a 45-degree rock field, and scored my first major gash of the season (a pretty, 3x5 keeper )
All in all, it's shaping up to be a pretty good day!

Danica Patrick lives five miles from me. All the businesses have her name splattered all over, as it's really exciting to have this happen with such a sweet, young ambitious woman! I am happy for her, even though I have never met her, I can say she is very well loved around here. What an accomplishment.

Let's see...
Friday afternoon we had an emergency c-section at work... 5 puppies and all survived! I even helped!
Saturday morning I worked, came home and replaced a broken window, then cleaned the cars while Bruce was golfing with his twin brother Brian, then we all went bowling. I did pretty good... 123, 145, 150 - all over my average! Even did 3 strikes in a row! woohooo!!
Sunday we WAY overslept (stayed up too far past my bedtime Saturday night!) I mowed the lawn, then we ran some errands (I got another set of sawhorses and some spray paint - oh boy!!), and watched it rain... then hail. When it finally cleared, we took the Mustang to a local cruise night at Dunkin Donuts.
Today we are heading to a Memorial Day fair with chicken bbq, funnel cakes, antique car show and flea market... at least that's what we were talking about last night!
Hey... what happened to the yard work?
Posted by KARYN BUSH (Member # 1948) on :
funnel cakes???? yum! those are my favorite! today i'm gonna hide from customers...cause i'm sure they think i'll be working...which i will...but i'm not up to answering the phone and emails....it is after all a holiday! bless our soldiers!

well, it's now 2:20 eastern time on Monday and I'm just finding time to scan the site here. I've been painting signs all weekend, 13 of em, and a new bar glass setup for the local dinner theatre. Painted my street pole today, more signs, finished 4 banners. All the things I never have time to do. Off tuesday! Going to empty my liviing room and music room and sand floors, prime and paint them this week! It's all about paint these days.

I'm actually working today and have been all weekend but it's okay because for one thing, I pretty much slacked off all week and secondly, I got this incredible burst of creativity the last couple of days and have had all of these great ideas that I've been implementing.

The weather has been awesome here,as we finally got the rain we desperately needed Friday night. started out both mornings watering new grass and planting some new daylilly bulbs I separated...scrubbed floors and did laundry; oh, yes, again, my trans went out of my car just after I got it back after nine weeks of them fiddling with it; took the other car from my son until he got his homework completed: squabbled with him for four days about that (teens hate to lose their priviledges), cooked tortillinis with marinara sauce; today, escaped to Lake Michigan and Chinatown,in Chicago and hung out. I must have walked about five miles today, it's only in the low 70's and great breeze Wow is that Lake crystal clean and blue! Lots of sailboats out. Haven't seen the Lake and boats since I was three years old. Saved the squirrel from my cat Margarita, and saw the wonders of a new baby bird flying out of the nest on my porch. Life is good no matter what!
Thursday was my youngest granddaughter's graduation from her Christian preschool. The kids were having more fun swinging aand spinning their diplomas at each other than anything. It was hilarious and naturally cute as they were being themselves.
