So why are people still using an operating system from 1998?
Off to worship at the titanium altar!

That's just it, they're tools to us, nothing more.
That said, looks like Tiger is a nice upgrade to an already good OS, Panther. Nothing more.

Joe, that's like saying in a year and a half the truck that may be available will be better than the one your dirving today.. . . maybe.

Ryan, don't be jealous these guys spend all day online chatting with babes. Besides, we both know they're all training to be cage fighters.

Loaded up OS 10.4 Tiger today....it has some great new features. And everything works like it's supposed to. No SP2 to wonder about???
One thing I like about the Mac OS, and I have done this more than one time.....While my friend was reading the instructions on how to download images from her new media reader for Windoze....I was already checking the images out in iPhoto on my PowerBook. Then putting them onto a DVD for her kids a few minutes later.
I have worked a fair amount on Windows...(3 years running CNC milling machines) and would without a second thought, spend more $$$ to buy an Apple......if you haven't seen OS 10 in action I guess you can't understand us FANatics. They don't win tons of Industrial design awards for nothing!
Well, it's off to have more fun...c-ya

Not me. I use an Evoluent mouse. It only came with Windows drivers. I was getting some serious carpel tunnel syndrome and this thing solved the problem for me almost two years ago. It's basically a sideways mouse so your arm is in a more natural position, my pain never came back. It's got 5 buttons that I customized so I can do many Signlab functions without drop down menus which speeds things up the work flow considerably. Maybe they have one for the Mac now but am I going to really get my work done sooner?

I got to experience this Mac enhancement yesterday. A coworker has it installed on his laptop. I have to say that most of the new features are novelties, but still quite impressive as compared to windows. The most impressive enhancement is spotlight. Once it's indexed, all I can say is WOW! and that's an understatement. When you start searching for somthing (anything), the results are displayed as quick as you can type. You do need an internet connection to use most of the other features to really take advantage of it, but I give it a 2 Thumbs up. I will really consider a Mac on my next purchase.
Havin' fun,
Checkers
