I haven't been hanging out here much, but I can't find a thread about Bill and Jane Diaz's Letterhead thing that their hosting this weekend.

Sounds like they've got about 30 or so people coming that they know for sure, so I just wanted to take a minute to remind any of you that weren't aware of it to get on down to beautiful Pontiac, IL and poke yer head in if'n you've got the time!

Their celebrating their 25th anniversary a year late (so I guess thats 25+1) and also showing off the remodeling that they've been working on. I don't know too many people better than Bill & Jane or anyone that contributes more to Letterheads and humanity in general. So if you can't make it at least post them a note here congratulating them on their 26 yrs in business and wishing them another (well maybe not 26 more) but at least a few more yrs in the business.

Hope to see some of you at the Bill & Jane "THING"

Dan

We've met Bill and Jane! We were on our way South a few years back and stopped in to see our friends Dave and Cyndi Draper. That night we piled in Dave's van and took a drive north to meet Bill and Jane Diaz.

For me, it was pure magic. Bill was out in the shop beside his home working. He's one of those old school sign painters that can do it all! It was like meeting a Brother. We all went out for Mexican food, and later that night, Bill and I got to test drive one of his customer's big rigs.

Since then we have continued to develop our friendship via Letterville. This is one very special couple. We'd love to be with you guys in person to celebrate this special occasion, but it's just not in the cards right now. You can bet we'll be there with you in our hearts.

A big round of applause for Bill and Jane.

[Applause]

The article in Signcraft (March/April 2004), of "30 trucks, 30 layouts-same copy", is just awesome.

I really enjoy your work.

Peace out,
Bob

Hi Bill and Jane,
I'm the guy from Godfrey, Illinois that you made feel so welcome when I came on this site. Too bad about the Illini basketball team, but it was sure fun to watch! Congrats on the anniversary. I may have to take a road trip to Pontiac and find you someday. In the meantime, I'll just keep learning more from your posts and improve my own skills from your great advice. Keep posting those great layouts. We're all out here watching!
Sign-cerely, Steve

Met some nice people we hadn’t talked to before...for anyone who hasn’t met Bill’s dad...he’s a good time...not sure what happened to Bill. [Wink]

Thanks again to Dan Kearfott for the” backwards” T-shirts [Razz] ...Thank you Jane for the earrings & necklace (Dora...they go great with my bottoms [Roll Eyes] )

Our only regret is...we had to leave early...but we "Almost" drove back down last night after our other commitment was over...Oh well...HOPEFULLY there will be a next time!!!

Pontiac, Illinois...a great place to: congratulate good friends on their much earned and well deserved success (25 + 1 years); a great place to see and mingle with longtime friends and meet new ones; a great place to make music, listen to the blues and "sing" the night away. Pontiac, Illinois...home of dead animals, late night LaMex, birthday celebrations (James is 58), homemade cookies, homemade elephants, homemade jewelry (Jeff+earrings+necklace+bottoms....it's a visual), homemade marshmellow shooters, a sprinkle of snow, some very creative art (thanks Mike), a lot of laughs, and most of all a bunch of wonderful memories. Thank you, Bill and Jane, for your hospitality and for hosting your anniversary meet. We also want to thank you for taking the time to spend some extra time with us in Chicago. We would have surely gotten "lost" in the windy (and cold) city if you had not been our tour guides. We had a great weekend!!

I think I'll cry now..........................I couldn't attend. Sounds like we missed a good time as usual. We want pics. Come on Bill, I know you had that new cannon "smokin".

Dave, I fortunately only missed half of the fun. I came a day late and a camera short. So, I missed getting any pics but others got some. I was a bit surprised they weren't already posted when i got home; I guess there was too much fun happening. Boy, that crowd knows how to hang the tension on the hook by the door, relax and have fun.

+++ Thank You Bill,Jane & Family! +++

It was great meeting Bills' father. The company was great, the Blues were great. The time was too short.

Thanks again. [Smile]

I'm not sure how to post pix for a meet, because we have some short movies too. This is a test.

I need some help here with sizing and getting pix in mass. What about that URL button?

Just a quick addition...Tom and Kathy only got to stay about 1/2 an hour. They came all that way on Friday morning, just to have to turn right around and drive back. Tom's Mom took a turn for the worse and died in her sleep Saturday night, Sunday morning. We just wanted to add there here, but Jane is starting another thread for them seperately. Our sincerest sympathies, Durhams.

We are trying to figure out how to post more pictures here and also are swamped with work. (God forbid we took a couple days off to "play with our friends!") Bear with us! Dave Utter is trying to talk Bill through it.....
PS The reason we took a photo with Tom & Kathy by that particular banner is they MET at the Letterrip in 1991!! [Big Grin]
