Anyone ever make a 5" to 6" golf ball??? I've been messing around with a foam ball but just trying to make a realistic and consistant pattern of dimples is proving to be impossible so far, nevermind time-consuming. I require this to be quite realistic for a dimensional sign. Searches on the net turned up nothing unless I just can't think of the right keywords.
Any thoughts????

Hi Marty. Pat says use a ball peen hammer to make the dimples. I think he is joking.

Marty, you might try Bill Debekker, he's the man with the 3D scanner

I knew I knew the answer... just had to look it up. One side is cut off for the numbers but they would make a good mold if nothing else.
If you are fastening them to a sign you could cut off the spike and use the flat part as the mounting point.

I tried making the 5 and 6" golf balls before, but they wouild never fit into the hole. Seriously, just take a real golfball and press it into the foam at an alternating row pattern.

I seem to remember seeing a mold making compound for enlarging objects. After you cast a mold of your golfball with this stuff you let it harden, then soak it in water and it swells larger to scale. Then you can cast a larger golf ball.
