I'm having a heck of a time cutting from Adobe Illustrator 10. Is there a "Cutting from Illustrator" thread like the "Cutting from CorelDraw" in the tips and tricks section. I've tried to search the archives but can't seem to find anything. Any help would be great thanx.

Greg..Can't help with the Illustrator thing but if yer running it on a PC then I believe all the same principles would apply.

IF you figure it out..PLEASE post your hints!!!!!!!!!

I'm sure that many others would appreciate any advice you can give!

Alright, After spending a few hours trying to get A.I. to cut last night with no luck. I installed Corel (free with my plotter but no clue how to use it) I followed dave's how-to and I was able to cut a file no problem. I could also cut with the Dr.Sticka software. Tonight I sat down and was finally able to cut with A.I.

I learned a few things:
I setup the document just like Corel

Set objects and text to no fill and a stroke of .001 (appears as 0 in the display)

For text you must create outlines and break the text up. The driver is fussy with the number of nodes in any single object.
We'll see if I can get it to print again tomorrow incase tonight was justa fluke [Wink]
