Hi John.I've got several jackets ( and other clothes with one shot applied (mostly sleaves and shirt tails of my best suit)and they seem to be pretty permanent!
I remember seeing something in signcraft from Rob Cooper or Todd Hanson ( about 97-90)
( a striping job on a jacket)_Ill dig it out later and get back to ya!

Back in 1987, while working with a fashion company in Seattle, we did some silkscreening and brush painting on leather and used an ink especially for use on hides. We used Createx Paints.

John...

I painted my work jacket 4 years ago with 1-shot and it's suede leather ! It has gotten a hard workout and is still on there, although some tiny cracks, or crazing, is beginning to appear. I think the suede gets bent around more than smooth leather would...

paint sold for leather work is all acrylic based craft type paint with more latex for flex. now depending what type of finish on the leather of the coat and what type of leather and how it was tanned /treated will dicate the length of time the paint will last. The old bomber jackets from WW2 were painted with oil based car, house, and what ever they could find according to an old timer that painted them for his crew and others the best would be 1 shot thinned a little for the flex. When in doubt go with the old school. It will work with air or squirrel brush
