Hey all. I'm new to the board here. (Thanks for the info on the brush boxes) I'm a big fan of guys like Mike Jackson, Gary Anderson, Rob Cooper, & Lane Walker's work. I don't know these guys personally but would like to see more of their work. Does anyone know where I could get pics or sketches? (besides the books available from Signcraft, which I have most of.) Any gallery post where work & ideas are shared? Don't know if anyone would care but I'd be willing to post my stuff there too. THANKS

Mike who? Oh, Mike Jackson. He is still around?

You can find a wealth of work that has been produced by these guys by looking in old issues of SignCraft. Mike has had an article in SC almost since the beginning and Gary Anderson pops up in the journals from time to time.

The mayor (Steve) has a group of about 75 of Gary's signs somewhere on this site.

You can check out websites by finding names in the "Find a Letterhead" section just to the left.

You have picked a fine list of artists to admire. They all do top notch work. All worthy of copying.

Welcome to Letterville Jim. You and I seem the admire the same people's work.

We haven't had an opportunity to collect a gallery of Mike's work yet, but we do have a nice selection of Gary Anderson stuff. The page below was created a couple years back after a visit to Nashville, IN.

The signs in this quaint, tourist filled town are almost all Garys and a fitting tribute to his work.

If you click on the Letterhead Profiles link, located in the purple bar to the left of the screen, you'll find some older profiles. Many of these are Letterheads you will recognize.

Mike's website has a wealth of stuff to look at.

Take a look at his clipart too. I have all 4 of his clipart software packages and use them all the time.

Hi Jim,
Thanks for the compliments! I never printed a book, other than the ones that go with each panel collection, but a long, long time ago I supplied a BUNCH of photos to Patrick Speilman and he used every one in a book called "Making Wood Signs". They are still available in many places, but I know Amazon has them.

Making Wood Signs (Amazon)

We sold our shop almost 10 years ago, so we don't do as many of the fancy signs anymore. In 1996 or so, we made quite a few reverse glass limited edition panels, shown on our web site.

I recently reworked those pages, with much larger and brighter images, along with a few nifty animations. I think any sign designer would enjoy this page:

Thanks,
Mike Jackson
