Our PLAN is to do this meet too. Our only problem is now Bill's parents are needing nursing home care, selling the house, etc. We went thru this with my parents a couple years ago and now we are doing it again. It sucks! They don't want to lose their independence and we don't want them too either, but they are running into problems. The biggest problem for us is his parents are in Arizona, while mine were 25 miles away. We may be traveling to Arizona this year instead of doing meets. We will just have to wait and see....HOPE to come!

I don't even know where Pennsylvania is
Posted by Jillbeans (Member # 1912) on :
......well maybe you should find out Dan. Heck, I've BEEN to Oregon. A lot like PA but the trees are bigger. And PA isn't as damp. And the people have interesting accents! Love....Jill

Yeah, like Jane said -- we're hoping to come. I lived in Pennsylvania and went to school out there in the '70's. We were last there in the middle 80's. I still have friends out there and I miss the place -- even those twisted roads.
I'm going to tell you what -- I don't think there's a straight road in the whole friggin' state. When I first moved out there and because I was a flatlander, I had major trouble negotiating all those curves. I know I drove everbody else nuts. I drove so slow that I probably caused a few accidents I didn't know about. You could have passed me on a tricycle. You go down one of those long hills and have those semis breathin' down your neck you learn to pick up the pace or else.

The Allegheny in that part of PA has about a 6' channel in August....I think your boat may be too big, CJ. I have seen people walk across the river in drier times, with just a bit of swimming in the middle.
But the bike would be just fine! I am enlisting the aid of a lot of my relatives as staff. We want this to be a FUN meet! Lots of food, fellowship, and general feel-good stuff. Ernest, I can try to find a loooong cot for you in the bunkhouse. Love....Jill

I will be coming with my husband, Jill. This will be fun! I LOVE the mountains! We'll pack our camping & fishing gear, too. Are pets allowed? We have a chocolate lab we like to take camping. If not, we will find a sitter for her.

Pets are welcome as long as the owners clean up after them. Debbie D, I dunno if one must have a PA fishing license or not! But there are fish in the river- muskies, red-tailed suckers, small-mouth bass, walleyes etc. This ought to be a swell meet! Love....Jill
