Gotta customer whos designer is sendin me MAC files. She has sent me a flurry of .ai to try and they didn't work. I requested .jpeg for viewing and she sent them. They didn't work. Not alot of MAC users in ALBERTA.
What format does she have to save them in for my successful importing??? I would think living in Alberta, SHE would know how because everyone she deals with is on PC.
I don't know because I deal with MACs .01% of the time....this being that .01%
Thanks!

Corey, Send them along and I think I can get you back on track with them, unless she is too far forward with Adobe CS products.

I have had similar problems being a Mac user myself.
Not sure what you are trying to open or import these into but you might try the following.
If she is using a newer version of Illustrator like version CS or 11 she needs to save the file as a legacy version .ai file...
Go to: File menu and scroll down to export,
at the bottom of that window there is a pop-down called format,
select: Illustrator Legacy (ai)
after clicking OK another window pops up asking which verion to save the file in.
Scroll down on that one and select an older version, 8 should work.
Converting text over to outlines in Illustrator before exporting also helps.
hope this is helpful.

the jpg files may be showing as .jpeg, & just changing to .jpg may resolve that
Dale pretty well covered the illustrator file issues.

That is probably the answer. I have Illustrator 8 on my PC and Illustrator 9 on my Mac. I go back and forth all the time with no problems. I just save the Mac AI file as AI version 8, and make sure .ai foles the file name. Of course Mac's don't need that silly extension to read the file.
If you can't bring it in it must be saved in a higher version than yours.
