A while ago, I saw a long ruler that had a level built into it. It was designed for installing a.d.a. signage.
Have any of you seen this and where can I find it?

Thanks in advance,

Checkers

Was it Grimco....seems like they had a T-stick of some sort for mounting signage.

Brian,

Thanks for talking to me this afternoon about wraps.

I was at the Long Beach show like I mentioned and purchased an "Edge ruler" (Purple 28" aluminum) The kind you don't cut your fingers off with. They had a "special" ruler with a level on it for a few $ more. It was the same ruler with a little stick-on level. If you really need an ADA type T-stick for for what Tony suggests otherwise just get a little bubble line level and double stick tape it to your ruler (thats what "The edge ruler" company is doing with theirs.)

Brian,

Check some of the common engraving suppliers like Johnson Plastics maybe. I will check some of my catalogs & see if I can find one. I know what your looking for.

Just a little point of interest...........

"Rulers" sit on thrones ........

"Scales" are devices used for measuring .....

"Professionals" should at least take the time to learn the correct names of the tools they use...!!

Just a little point of interest...!! [Wink]

dude.. er, I mean CJ
a scale is an epidermal structure covering fishes, reptiles, and certain mammals.
or, of course a dry thin flake of epidermis shed from the skin.

It is however, accurate to use the term to define the system of ordered marks at fixed intervals used as a reference standard in measurement with a ruler

Gee DUDE.............!!

This dude **** is gettin old real fast !!

Walk in to any machine shop or any other place where measurements are in constant use and you'll get your ass laughed out using the term ruler.........course they probably don't tell ya that in college, or in sign shops.....

It really don't matter, because the way the use of the English language is becoming so bastardized, we'll all be speaking mexican and ebonics before long anyway..........Dude !!

hey I'm just havin a laugh at your "point of interest"... all in jest. [Smile]
Believe me I don't take myself too seriously around here & don't expect anyone else to, but one good point of interest deserves another.

I've been pushing scales around a drawing board longer then I been doing signs... architect scales for construction documents, engineer scales for site plans. In fact I ain't no stranger to pentatonic or pythagorean scales either, but at the collage I went to a scale was used for proportional measurement. If machine shops need a fancy name for a ruler I'm not sure who will start laughing first. [Smile]

'...Keep mouth closed (and fingers off the keyboard)...'

'Oh heck,'

Kind'a looks like you two need to get together and do some measuring...

Checkers,

Any chance your looking for a Seton Sign Setter?

Looked at getting one a few weeks back since we had a substantial amount of ADA signs to install on a particular project. I’m not usually one to waste time and efforts to reinvent the wheel, however, I did end up making two that were “customized” for how we approached the install. Since I never purchased one of the devices, don’t know if we made out better or not by making or own.

By the way, I may have another person interested in attending the Butler seminar. Let me know when the new date firms up.

Why would anyone want to mount a ruler?

I guess it's good to be the king.
(since we were on a semantics roll)

Hey, if Nathan and I were partners we would be The Golden Rule.

my scales tell me I'm still overweight, even though I can scale the garden fence in one go, I'll have to scale down the amount of junkfood I eat- that's my rule.
