jill says bad things always happen around her b-day(which is july 17th). last night her son inadvertently let jill's pug out.he left to pick up his sister, not realizing the dog got out. they came home 2 hours later and the dog was nowhere to be found. rachael called crying, then she called jill out in edmunton. now there are alot of tears being shed. please say a little prayer that they find wheezer. she is a tiny, chubby pug. she is very loved and sorely missed. thanks. fiddles [Frown] [Thanks]

Thanks Faye.
I would appreciate some prayer power or even a few positive thoughts.
Weezer is a very well loved and overfed pug who has ruled my roost for 6 years.
I hope someone just dognapped her and that she's not laying hurt or dead somewhere.
Rachael showed great responsibility by placing an ad in the Butler Eagle and calling the Humane Society. We are both devastated.
Love....Jill

I'm hoping Weez is just off somewhere sleezing around.

I think Weezer probably hopped willingly into someone's car. She is too friendly for her own good.
The ad went thru to the Butler Eagle and I added a reward.
Rachael just called back.
My parrot Charlie almost choked to death on a piece of pizza last night! When it rains it pours.
I guess I'll just stay home from now on.
Love...Jill

Got a photo of him (her?) What I did when I had a dog get lost years ago was I posted a photo with all our contact info at the entry to the busiest grocery store in town. I scanned the photo and made a little poster describing her, her name etc. and sombody called. I have no idea how she got miles out of town, but these people in the country found her! She was SOOOO glad to see us!!

Oh I am so sorry to hear of this. Once when I was visiting friends two thousand miles from home and this happened to me. I first called the local radio station and requested an announcement of my lost doogie, then put an ad in the local papers, called the pound and within a few days I recovered her. Whew, almost lost her for sure, ya gotta act quick and do everything possible thats available.

The worst part about the whole thing is not being there, right Jill? A similiar thing happened to me, and I had to leave town before we found him, so I can understand.

Check list...

GO TO THE LOCAL SHELTER. I don't know how busy it is there, but at the SPCA where I worked, we had a file a couple inches thick of lost dog reports. Luckily you have a very recognizable dog.

CONTACT THE LOCAL ANIMAL CONTROL OFFICER. You can usually do this through the police department.

PUT UP FLIERS. But design them like a sign - legibility from a distance! HUGE letters LOST DOG, then a picture. Make sure you have a couple different phone numbers listed.

Contact local Veterinarians - especially your own Vet, if you have his rabies tag on him.

Run an ad in the newspaper - usually they will do this for free.

Dig out the copy of his Rabies certificate and license, and have it with you when you visit shelters, dog pounds, animal control. These are usually required to claim your dog.

Best of luck... and PLEASE keep us posted!!!!
