Anyone know of a replacement paint similar to the Deka waterbased gloss gold paint.
From what I heard Deka is no more and I was using their paint and having great success with this particular paint on canvas awnings. It held it’s metallic gold colour well over time and the fact that it was gloss meant it was flexible enough for the movement in the fabric.
I could see myself having to buy from the states or Canada as none of the British suppliers seem to be carrying anything like it.
Again what I am looking for is a good metallic gold waterbased gloss paint, anyone know one?

Miles, You might want to try Kemp Permagild.
It dries quickly and has a brilliant gold finish.

I just used Ronan AquaLeaf "Real Gold" for our church sign a month or so ago. Sonny Franks sent pictures of a sign he had used it on which was three years old and he said it looks fine still. I think it's the best gold I've seen in waterbased form but I don't have a clue about longevity yet. It will take several coats though. You may want to put down a yellow base coat first.

Ditto what Amy said. We have used the Ronan AquaLeaf on a couple of projects. It looks very nice. They also offer a few different shades.

As Amy mentioned, I've had great success with the Ronan Aqua-Leaf. The color you want is called "Real Gold" and it's exactly like the Deka paint which worked so well. A minimum of 2 coats (3 is better) is needed, so don't judge the product by one coat only. Gary Anderson turned me on to this product, and he said it's worked well for him also.

You might try www.dickblick.com for the Ronan Aqua Cote. They have a good mail order service,
or call them at: 800-828-4548 I used to use them to order Ronan paints because my regular supplier doesn't carry this particular brand.
I've had good luck wit this paint also.

I'm not sure but here is a link to Ronan's website http://www.ronanpaints.com/graphic.htm

Make sure you get AquaLeaf. AquaCote is not the same thing.
