I have been in business for 18 years, and never tried gold leaf. A couple of weeks ago I had an opportunity to use gold leaf to enhance a project.
Not having a clue of how or where to start, I called Ron Purcell. Ron talked to me as if we were old friends and had known each other for years. He basically gave me a "phone" lesson in gold leaf techniques. He told me everything I would need(and never once said that I had to buy it from him), and how to use it(as best he could over the phone).
I wish I knew how to post pictures here, as the job was a success. I'm happy, and my customer is happy, Thanks to Ron Purcell and his willingness to help someone in need.
BTW... I would also like to thank Steve and Barb, bacause without this site, I would never have known about Ron.

I agree Don, Ron Purcell is not only helpful but goes the extra length which many take for granted. I've had the opportunity to visit with Ron, Kristie and their family on a road trip I'd taken some months back and their knowledge in this trade is unreal. Ron's inventory I'd say is full with everything needed to perform a perfect job every time.

Yes I have had the same experience with Ron and Kristi. Both are great people and a wealth of knowledge. I couldn't recommend them enough for your supplies.

I've spoken and chatted with Ron and Kristi many times. Very sweet, helpful, knowledgable people to say the least. One time I spoke with Ron, I had to take notes, then type it all out, immediately after hanging up so I wouldn't loose any of the information. Great merchants, great letterheads, great people.

Ditto...I have spoken to Ron a couple times regarding a piece I'm working on now. He knows his stuff, and doesn't mind at all walking you through it.

Yep, add me to the list of fans.
A few days ago I called to order some smalts. While talking with Kristi I also told her I needed the Raymond LeBlanc Gold Leaf book that has been edited several times by Kent Smith. Although I have the orginal, I never got around to buying the Kent revised version.
I mentioned that I was going to send it to Kent and get him to autograph it for me. Her answer was "well, we can do that". They are sending the book to Kent for me and then he will ship it on to Texas. Now, that's service.
It's great to hear of other folks who have dealth with this fine couple. They do it the right way.

Don, Great job, the owner should be very pleased with your Letterhead Quality Craftsmenship. I'm sure it will be treasured for many years to come.

YEP I agree with Rick Sacks I have had the opportunity to really get to know them. There as good as Gold they really do know the Craft.
