I'm working on a project where I'm adhereng styrofoam to a 1/2 inch PVC panel. I used Lexel silicone adhesive and it melted the foam too much and didn't really give good adhesion. Any suggestions?

Hi Penny,
I use PL300 to adhere foam to most surfaces. I usually am using the pink contruction grade foam for my projects, and this stuff works well. I do however always test a piece on a scrap and check for bond after 24 hours. Its stuck well to everything so far.... for me that is!

I have had good luck with PL Premium in the construction section of your hardware store.

Would these be available in Alabama?

Hi Penny -
I've had good luck rolling a barrier coat of latex paint on the back of the styrofoam to keep the silicone from eating into it.
For the adhesion problem, (assuming that's not caused by the silicone burrowing up into the styrofoam and not reaching the pvc) be sure to separate the sheets of foam and let them air cure for a day or so before trying to make anything stick to the surface. That might apply to the pvc as well.
