I want to see in your shop. I love to see pictures inside other sign shops. I learn something every time, even if it's a mess like mine is...
I'm feeling voyeuristic!
I can't remember seeing wood shop pics, that would be cool.

lol Penny . . . I gotta get the eqip to post pictures . . . then everyone can still NOT grasp my strange sense of humor
ANYWAY, my shop has a lotta dust and wads of dead bugs underthings everywhere . . . .am I the only one with that lovely scenery?
I have a lot of stuff stacked against the walls in my own personal organized way . . .
Since I have been remodeling my home for like the last 4 years...my shop is about 1/2 full of buliding materials and some appliances, ect.
The remodeling process has gone on so long as to have become a way of life . . .since apparently I will never be done with it, I prefer to view it as a life-long career move . . .besides, I've become quite attached to piles of building materials and have NO idea WHAT I would do with all that space if I actually use up all the materials . . . . .....

Penny, I can help you out real shortly. I'm just putting the finishing touches on our new digs which is basically done except for some painting/staining of cabinets and benchtops. I just carted out the last of the construction debris today and swept up, not bad. I'm pleased.
It was a real challenge finding places for everything that would let us be truly organized - we were mostly successful. There's just one realization that sunk in today...when it comes right down to it, we do NOT have enough space for storing materials like we historically have, anywhere and everywhere. Nope, my partner and I both made a firm commitment this shop would be uncluttered and have a place for everything. That's a tall order for only about 1000 sq.ft. We may end up having to get a small shed because it kills me to throw out leftover scraps that MIGHT be needed someday.
So it is ready to photograph, and I'll post pics soon as I get them. That may not be tomorrow but Tues for sure.

just posted this a week ago, but in case you missed it...
here is the old pic many of you have probable seen:
I just completed reclaiming a 10' x 12' area that was formally a grubby darkroom for screenprinting. Now it has new sheetrock, recessed lighting & tile. I still have to trim out the transition from where all the desks in the old pic above have moved straight back 10 feet into the new area, opening up the front for much more production tables & material storage.

Can't wait to see your pics, Joe. Doug, I love your setup! I've been agonizing over my free-standing vinyl rack because when I move to the house I won't have room for it near the plotter I like the way you've got your vinyl. I need to trade my rack for a wall-mount. I noticed Suelynn's got shelves for vinyl, that's a good idea too.

Hiya Penny, Our shop does specializes in wide format graphics for tradeshow and POP displays. So, don't use us as a good reference. But, I wanna show off too... http://mywebpages.comcast.net/sign-it/shopphotos.html The page will take a while to load on dialup.
Havin' fun,
Checkers

Joe, I love the way you presented those pics - I'm going to steal that idea, thanks.
Sorry about the big file here - I'll get these posted on my site soon as individual thumbnails with links for enlargements. But I am excited to get this out to share so here you go. We needed this about 5 years ago:

Wow Joe... those pics are awesome! (actually both Joe's)
In fact the top ones look like illustrations. Are they? or are they photos with some treatment to look like that? Very impressive shop.
