I haven't been around for awhile, but I'd like ask you all to remember my father in your thoughts and prayers in the next coming days.
He is undergoing quadruple bypass on Monday at the University of Ky. hospital. He's 77 years old and tougher than pig iron, but we need all the help we can get. I'd really appreciate it. By the way, his name is John too, but everyone calls him "Junior".

You got it John. We'll be lifting him up for sure.
My mom's going in Monday for jaw surgery to extract a broken tooth root from many years ago. Minor surgery but nothings minor at that age.

God be with you and yours.

Sent a prayer out for him already.
Hope all goes well.

Take care!

Done.

My mother had six bypass surgery when she was 78 and came through it great. She's a tough old bird, too. She's 90 now and still going.

She also fell out of her car driving down the road when she was 76. She got up, found the car in a neighbors back yard and drove home.

John....your Dad will be fine in a couple months, as soon as the hurt goes away! Friend og mine, same age as "Junior", had a quad bypass in February...and...was shooting Trap with us 2 weeks ago! (and that SOB beat my scores!)

John,
I will keep you and yours in my prayers and keep the faith. My dad went thru that surgery twice and leaved many, many years after the last.

ps. I have always wanted to ask you if you have any relatives that are Brewers, Taulbee,mChilders, Ratliff or Dennis's? My mother-in-law was a Brewer and her husband is buried in the Taulbee cemetary...somewhere. She was born in Frenchberg, KY.

John, I'm thinking about you. You must be scared.
On Monday I will think about Junior and pray for strength for everyone in your family.

I know a number of people who had this operation with great success, and not one who did not make it through.

..Hey....

NEVER be afraid to ask 'stuff' of Letterheads.
...I've learned that...the hard way. (ie: humility!)

All Our Prayers and Blessings

John, my father-in-law had a quadruple bypass in the early 1980s when they wouldn't guarantee the job to even last 10 years.
He had a second quadruple bypass 18 months ago, and will be 80 in four weeks time. His health has improved tremendously after the second bypass, and his recovery time was quicker too.

Best of wishes to your family

Positive thoughts coming from the East Coast John, We all know of People who had this surgery, and we all know how successful it is, and what it does to their quality of life.

Thank you all very much for your words of encouragement. My dad isnt worried one bit about it. Hes always been that way. I worry much more than he does. He had a single blockage dealt with four years ago by cleaning it out, but it came back, along with three new ones. One of them is blocked severely. Doc said he dont know how dad didnt have a heart attack, but god knows.
My dad is a chrisian and believes god has more for him to do, and I do too. Thank you all again for your kind words and prayers, and Ill keep you up to date how he does.

How about a prayer from the other side of the world?

We is "family" [Smile]

My mum (80+) is headed for a major spinal op:(

Geeezz, why do we have to get "old"? The mind is willing but the damn body protests every morning!

John,

Here's praying your father has a successful surgery and that God works his miraculous will through the talented and skillful hands of the surgeons involved.

Keep us posted on the recovery, will you? Your father will do just fine. [Smile]

Ya gotta love a guy named "Junior"! [Wink]
I am sure that he will be just fine.

Dad had surgery yesterday and they were finished at about 4:30pm. He was awake and alert at 6pm, and they took him off the ventilator/respirator at 10pm and he was breathing on his own fine.
They did four grafts with one artery from his chest and one from his leg. Doc says if everything goes as planned, he will be home friday or saturday. I alwasy knew I loved my pap, but you really find out just how much when something like this happens. Thank you all so much for your kind words and prayers. I intend to print all this out and give it to him. God BLess you. [Smile]
Heres a photo taken about two weeks ago.

Thanking God already for your dad'a swift recovery.. Any chance you are kin to a Rodney Deaton who is in the junk business and now in Davenport IA? Your dad's pic looked amazingly familiar!

John, I am thinking about your dad, hoping things will improve. I miss my dad and there can't be enough said to spend every moment you can with your parents. I remind myself to follow their lessons of life and living to the fullest as an honor to them. Now, to pass some of their lessons on to my children and grandchildren, as would make them very happy.
Your pic is really nice of your dad, as he has peace in his face, seems like a really kind person. Take lots of pictures!

Hey John,

Glad to hear your Dad is doing well.

I know from other posts that the two of you already spend a lot of time together, just be sure to keep it up.

I am so glad that my Dad and I worked (and played) together for so many years and created lots of fond memories. I even catch myself telling my kids a lot of the "dumb stuff" Dad used to tell me. [Smile]

I hope you get to keep him for a loooonnnnnngggg time.
