Hello everyone from beautiful Kalispell, Montana! I recently came across the letterhead gang and was very excited to become a part of such a diverse group! My husband and I and our 4 year old daughter moved to Kalispell and started our business in Nov. '03. A little about ourselves- [Thanks] we are Palmer Plastics Fabrication & Supply. We provide complete custom plastic fabrication such as brochure holders, display cases, replacement windows and more. We also do sand blasting, and vinyl lettering goes hand in hand with all our services. My question today is we bought the plotter, we have Corel Draw 11 and of course the "software" that came with the plotter. Corel Draw says we should be able to cut directly from it, but that's all it says "You can cut directly from Corel Draw" end of instructions. The software that came with the plotter is not that great to say the least. Does anyone know how to cut directly from Corel Draw? Do we have to buy patch software to get it to run? Thanks for any help!

So Belinda, have you met Pierre and Latigo? They're also in that town and do mostly carving....big carving.

Hi Belinda, and welcome here.
Ray is right, Dave is the man when it comes to cutting from Corel. It works great, I almost bought $800 worth of software before I found out about this. Good thing I never did buy it...
I might not have all the answers, but you are welcome to contact me if you have any problems with it. Good luck.

Lotti

Pierre St. Marie’s crew did the big “Welcome to Montana” carved mural in Glacier Park International Airport. They are a multi talented group. As I recall, his shop is off Hwy. 2 between Hwy. 35 and the airport. His family has been besieged with health problems and he has had little time to spend here of late.

You can get contact information from his website:
stmariegraphics.com

My brother Dan owns National Trim of Montana. His shop is on the West side of Hwy. 35 a mile North of the Hwy. 82 turn off in Bigfork.

Welcome Belinda...Sorry I can't help with cutting from Corel to a "JSI" plotter since I have never heard of one of those animals. [Dunno] [Dunno]
