Ok, Ok
I've been told before but I need to be reminded again. What is the name of the glue used in glue chipping and where is the best place to get it.
Thank you and Good day, or night depending on when you read this. :} [Roll Eyes]

Animal hide glue. At least two merchants here, Esoteric and Letterhead Sign Supply carry it. The "Letterville Merchants" link on the menu will get you to their contact info.

The following link to Mike Jackson's site gives more specifics and instructions.

Contacting either Canadian Signcrafters or Letterhead Sign Supply, both merchants here, can tell you specifically what animal glue works best. You might want to go to this website.

These people are so into glue-chipping and you'd probably get more specific answers there. Mike Jackson has put a list together somewhere on that site with sources for various items needed. Also, you'll find a lot of familiar names.

Hello,
Bill mentioned a page that contains a lot of hard to find sign supplies, including glue-chip glue.

Hard To Find Sign Supplies List

Both Canadian SignCrafters Supply and Letterhead Sign Supply are listed, along with a few others.

I spent a few hours building a page which contains about all the information I could find about Glue-Chipping. That page should give you a ton of great information. Here's the link:
Compiled Glue-Chip Page

Hope that helps!

Well, you've heard from the Mother Lode. You'll not get any better advice than what Mike Jackson says. His "few hours" is an understatement, but these sites will tell you all you need to know.

Be careful, that stuff is habit forming. Once you see the work of some of the masters of this craft, you'll never be satisfied. This is one area that the more you learn, the more stupid you feel.
