Hi everyone!
I just thought I would take the time to say hello properly. Rather than jumping onto the end of some threads like I have been doing over the last week.
My name is Robert Lambie & I have been making signs for 14 years now.
I started out as an apprentice for my dads company in Glasgow, Scotland working my way up learning anything I everything I could. 14 years on I will shortly be taking over the company when my dad retires. (Not sure if I am ready. gulp!)
Although I dabble in almost all areas of our trade I specialise in vinyl application.
I’m very much a dry application man and will soon be getting more into digital printing and vehicle wrapping.
I have part wrapped many vehicles and full wrapped a few.. So any advice I can put your way feel free to ask.

I would also like to thank Steve & Barb for welcoming me onboard as a resident here on letterheads. Thank you very much!

p.s. be gentle, i am the worlds worst speller.. ahem. [Dunno]

Hi Robert,
Where do you find the time to run a sign business, run a terrific "board" and still find time to contribute over here? [Smile]
Glad you do.
Cheers mate,

Hello properly to you as well Robert. [Smile]

I think I did the "not introduce myself," thing too. I would guess the intro is "proper," as you say. (Man hangs head and peers around through his brow, then quietly says, ... I sorry everyone.)

Welcome aboard Robert. Good to see another resident all smiley and ready for the Letterville adventure.

Relax with the spelling thing Robert, I'm sure that I can't spell well enough to know yoiu are misspelling anything, and I no I'am not aloan.

[Big Grin]

As a Brit, you will be pleased to know that your compatriot Arthur of Buckinghamshire posts here often, and his advice is always good.

P.S. as a sign board administrator from Scotland, I wonder whether you'll be officially known as the "Blue & White Thong" here [Wink]

Welcome to the site Robert! [Smile]

This site has been an enormous help to me over the years both in some of the long distance friendships it has produced and the help and expertise which is readily on hand, by a great bunch of talented people.

I happened upon it back in 96 on the old BB format and have seen lots of faces come and go and alot still around, and for many years it was the only sign related site I visited.

I found a link to your site a year ago I think, and think you have done a great and proffesional job with your UK signgroup, there's alot of great stuff to learn there too with all your step by steps...and the British flavour!

Its fun to find sites that are enthusiastic in helping people to be better at what they do, it can only help to encourage people to adventure more with signmaking whatever medium you use to produce better looking end results.

I will be back home in the UK next week, as you know, and hope we get a chance to meet at Sign UK.

I hope I fit in just fine.. Ill do my best to pipe in when I can.
Just need to get used to clicking on spell check before my Scottish accent comes thru in these posts & really starts to confuse you.. That coupled with my fast (bad) typing lands typos all over the place. I’m sure ill get by… [Roll Eyes]

Duncan, your right mate.. Im flat out this weather but hopefully I can visit here when I find the time to relax on the opposite side of the fence for once. It does give me a bit of a break & I can learn from you guys at the same time. [Wink]
Its good to see some faces i recognise here as well as many new ones. Like I have said, I do visit letterheads when I can and have done for some time. I know fine well the mass of talent in just a handful of you guys never mind the whole site.
I would have to say that the last thing that kicked me up the backside to try and join in properly on letterheads was after seeing henrys work in the last panel swap. I loved it & I followed a link he gave to this site and sat with my chin dropped looking at all the panels submitted. Really Excellent work!

Well I have just received 3 back orders of signcraft yesterday as my subscription run out & I wanted to catch up. So, no doubt ill be back here shortly asking about this and that..

Thanks again everyone.

p.s. Jill! [Confused]
