HiYa Ryan!
As you can probably figure out, things are a little up in the air around here as far as attending the meet.
Now that I don't have a job, I have the time to go... but not the money! But if I get a job, we might have the money, but I won't have the time. Then Bruce would have to go by himself.
Can you at least pencil him in as a maybe? Thanks!!

Add another Yankee or two to the list, Ryan.
I called a couple of other Letterheads yesterday from north of the Mason/Dixon line and we're planning a carpool for the trip down.
I like the panel jam battle idea. Sounds like fun! Rapid
Posted by Sonny Franks (Member # 588) on :
I cain't believe you don't already have this rebel on the list. Just to balance things, I'll be brangin a yankee named Chizlowskee with me. He'll be makin chips and carving battle swords for the Union troops.
Posted by Don Hulsey (Member # 128) on :
Now I am really confused. Not sure which list you'll put me on since KY never made up it's mind which side of the line it wanted to be on, but I have always claimed to live in the far North of Dixie, and according to my parents and several school teachers, I was born with a touch of Rebel in my blood.
Whatever list you put me on, you can count on me and Miss Dora being there.

I understand, and after all....rules are rules right? And you KNOW how much respect I have for the rules.
Jimmie......Hope ya can make it there but if not I'll try to swing by & see ya after the meet!
Shep.......try to make your "one day" early in the meet. If I'm successful in roundin' up a couple of outlaws on the drive over (yeah...the usual suspects) I sure could use an extra hand.

Hey Ryan and Donald.....I've checked the "Canes" schedule and they have a home game on the 25th...How far away is the arena from "Y'all?"
For some of you southerners, we are talkin HOCKEY here...do they have a real Zamboni Ice re-surfacer or do they still have Cooter with his tow truck with leaking, hot oil?
I was thinking of catching a game and then maybe seeing if I could sleep on the ice to try and make it feel like "Home."
I see Florida has a game at home and Nashville on the 30th, so I could catch a game there as well on the way home. (I know Tampa Doesn't even have a team..hehehe)
Sorry, but this here Yankee has got to have his Hockey, even in the SOUTH!!

Hello, Ryan and Don, I attended the meet last year. It was one of my most memorable meets(I've been to 32). I've never been to a meet that within the first few hours I learned something that made my trip worthwhile. Ryan, in your bio it said you like racing. Alot of the meets hold pinstriping moto-cross racing,it is always a big hit. I will always remember the 89 national letterhead meet in Texas, I raced(pinstriped) all the way to the finals, after every turn, jump, and straight away mau quality of line layed down and stop watched time(et) ended up Kent Moss 3rd place, Harry Mallacote 2nd, and Bob Bond 1st. We all got an intro and a nice little trophy. If interested someone has specs for reg. size track and all. Bob Bond would know. Anyway--Kent Moss will be there, thanks for having Dixie '94. I'm a snowbird,Charleston, South Carolina-winter Wilbraham, Massachusetts-summer. I am a republican, can not stand Kennedy's,not for gay marriages, realy like southern people, love bisuits and gravy, hate grits. Looking forward to the Dixie meet.

I will not have my post taken over by silly talk about Hockey. Silly men playing on ice slapping sticks around. Hell even the players dont like the game. They are always trying to start fights so they can get kicked out. Now if you guys want to talk about the athletic prowess of Mud Bog Racers be my quest. I must go now and shoot a squirrel for dinner.

This is one of the reasons I seldom come here anymore.........Too many people with the attention span of a grape.....
Ryan..... I appologize for taking your thread off on yet another BS direction, but it has obviously already been turned into something else...........!!

Tickets?
I don't need no stinkin' tickets.
I've been to about 190 of their last 200 home games without needing tickets.
We sell a couple hundred tickets day of the game for $8.00.
Update, just demolished the AHL team calling themselves the Rangers 5-2.
CJ with his usual "contribution" Has he ever said anything positive? He's one of the reasons I seldom come here anymore. If you hate reading posts that much, don't come by at all.
Posted by mike meyer (Member # 542) on :
haha..I agree Dennis.....he still owes me a flashlight that he tried to engrave. He probably has a huge box of the ones he spelled wrong, It can't all be positive, ya gotta have the negative soothsayers lurking around.
Just to satisfy some of the people that worried about this getting off topic.....I will be driving ALOT of miles to get the paint brushes out and GO FOR IT at the civil war 2004! Donald and Ryan came all the way to Mazeppa, I can go to South Carolina! I'm bringing a glass gold leaf panel and I would like to bring some extra glass pieces, already screened, for sale, so people can get into Gold on glass! Just before I leave I'll try and post the artwork and size.
I will be bringing lots of left over stuff from the Muster for sale as well.
Now, Dennis, congrats on your club kickin the hell out of the Rangers! If people don't like Hockey interjected on any posts, screw em. I don't like guns, religon or mini goals either, but I ain't bitchin'!
This bulletin board is to like a real-life Letterhead Meet. If you have never been to one, this board is very similar, because you have all kinds of different bickering, and laughter and seriousness going on all around you. How Steve, the Mayor, keeps it all under control is beyond me.!!!
Love it or hate it! That's life.

Hockeys cool with me as long as it's the Bruins. Ok if there's gonna be a panel battle hows that gonna work. Since you have everyone listed in three catagories shouldn,t there be a third faction. Maybe I have the wrong idea on how this is going to work. Anyway Back to the original topic Asheville use to have a hockey team it was called the Smoke. They had a lot of problems keeping the civic center cold enough for the ice to stay frozen. So they canned the Smoke and brought in a basketball team called the Altitude. Wish they kept the hockey team. Roger

This is one meet we have been planning on attending since last year, but it's just not going to happen for us. Apologies to Ryan and Donald, new Letterheads attending their first meet and all our wonderful buddies from past meets.
This just hasn't been our year so far. My health status hasn't been good the last couple months. That's always a concern for anyone traveling south of the border and unable to buy health insurance.
We were prepared to come anyway. We're fedup with Winter. For the past couple years, we've been attending Fred Self's Meet, then spending time with Alton and Mary Gillespie in Dallas before escaping to the warmth of Florida. Mazeppa was teriffic, but I love the Sun myself.
The final decision to stay home is a visit by my Dad. He's flying in from Calgary tomorrow. We haven't seen him in 3 years. Since he's only staying 10 days, our hands are pretty well tied.
This is going to be one special meet. We really enjoy getting around folks like Ryan and Donald. I'll miss having Ryan hijack my laptop and Letterville. Here's hoping they will have a internet connection available so we can join the meet via chat.

CJ sorry to hear your engraving business is doing so poorly that you need to masquerade as a sign guy. Enjoy your stay in Florida, can't blame you for getting out of Kentucky. If you crank that handle on the side of your phone real fast your internet connection should speed up. If not ask Sarah the operator what to do. Don't think you'll have a very good time at Ryan and Donald's meet. People might have the audacity to talk about something other than signs. Seems to happen at every meet I go to. Seems to happen a lot at this on-line Letterhead meet. Seems like most people have life beyond One Shot and Sign Foam.

I never meant for any of my posts to go angered towards you, I'm not that way. Posts that go off to hockey are much more easy going than the religious and political rants! So, if you get bent out of shape on just a little'ol thang like hockey......you gots ta adjust medication brother! Now, I can't wait for this here Dixie Meet, it's gonna be fun! The Yanks from the Northeast are really gathering troops to storm down on Johnny Reb! Whether you are North or south, I think the car pool idea is great and should be done more often for Letterhead Meets!
My apoligies to the Mayor Steve Shortreed on the "new Thread" post, I never meant to stir anything up, just trying to make a different side of the story. I'm sorry Steve, I'll sit in the BB Penalty Box for 5 minutes...OOPS Sorry about the reference to HOCKEY..another 5 minutes?

He is a stand up guy and my freind. I understand where he is coming from. Do I agree that the post should have stayed on topic with an iron fist. NO. This post is to stir up intrest to my meet in any way it can.I dont want a post that stays at the top with no additions. I can tell when something new is said becouse it goes to the top.
Mike and Dennis are also my freinds and stand up guys. Do I think Mike and Dennises replys were out of line and mean spirited. No I think they were freindly jabs. BUT befor this gets more fired up and someone gets ****sed drop it for no reason other than your respect for me and Donald. All of you are my freinds there is no one in this world that is not invited to this meet. Chill out. I know no one is mad at each other but I feel this should stop now befor someone gets mad. And screw the spelling I have too much to do right now. See yall soon in Dixie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Atta Boy Ryan! Welcome to the Zany world of running a Meet!
Here's the truth...C.J. and I were on the same farm club in Moose Jaw back in the early 60's and I was a left winger, C.J. was a goalie and even back then he was slow at "starting up" and now all these years later it's even his computer! Anyway, he was cut from the team and went to being a biker .
The rest is history.

Hi Ryan, Myself and Rob Gunton (from your list) will be coming up from Columbia SC. We are with Hi-Impact signs, we do mostly vinyl graphics, alot of race cars. You can file us both under "Damn Yankees"
Myself, I do a good bit of custom paint on the side. I can't stripe all that great, but I'm working on that.
Neither of us have ever been to one of these Jams. Im not sure what to expect. Should I bring my brushes, my airbrush...anything else?
Posted by CJ Allan (Member # 52) on :
Okey Meyer..........
Now ya went and did it for sure...............
What's the matter with you, Man......??
This absolutly tears it........!!
You promised to "NEVER TELL" that story, and here ya go blabbin it all over the damn internet for the whole world to hear, and laugh about......... You were sworn to secrecy...............!!
You also know damned well that I "WAS NOT CUT" from the team.........
I ESCAPED...............!!!!!!!
I went out and found a whole bunch of new ways to get my teeth knocked out, and get blindsided..........
The next thing....you'll probably go blabbin all about those sheep we were usin as cheerleaders..........
Man.......Ain't nuthin sacred........!!
You're just still all upset cause I took the puck with me when I left..........ain't ya.??
Sorry about all this again Ryan and Donald......... I jus don't like untrue stories about me to spread al over..........
And THAT'S The TRUTH..............!!
Honest......!!

I'm still up in the air about this. JUST as I'm getting busy after a slow spell so don't know if I can get away. What all would I bring besides the sign kit? Paint, chisels, airbrush, compressor also??
Posted by Cheryl Lucas (Member # 1656) on :
Hey Peter,
Be sure to bring your chisels and show us your tricks.
I'm kinda curious about the air compressor, too. I hope to have Airbrush Bobby ridin' shot gun with me. He'll be bringing his airhead gear.
DONALD! How many airheads can ya hook up to yer compressor?
Cher.
Posted by DONALD THOMPSON (Member # 3726) on :
I know nothing about all of that. My compressor is a 5hp 22 gal. Other than that I don't have a clue. I do have a nice new Iwata airbrush though. Hopin to learn something next week.
Posted by Ryan E Young (Member # 2325) on :
I will take care of getting a large compressor. If someone could come up with a tree set up so 5 or 6 could shoot that would be great. I will get a brand new one I need it for the house.
Posted by Roger DiNofa (Member # 2781) on :
Ryan, I intended in bringing my little one anyway if it gets out of the shop if you'd like I could bring my larger one too . You can run two lines off of each. The bigger ones pretty loud tho. Just let me know and I'll throw em both in the truck. Might not get there until fri evening waiting to see when Kevin gets off work. Holler at me if you do Roger
Posted by mike meyer (Member # 542) on :
will there be refrigerated rooms for us Northerners? How bout WinnDixie? Do they have a Meat Deppartment I could sleep in?
I'm bringing shorts!
Posted by goddinfla (Member # 1502) on :
Gee Ryan you almost had me in tears thinkin' I messed up your thread. Then you had to go say hocky sucks. I assume you mean hockey. I was just messin' with CJ. I'd really love to go to your meet but am in the middle of merging with Cobra and Chris. Is that on topic enough? Sorry I couldn't reply sooner but I was watching my Bolts beat the Sabres 3-1. Ooops.
Posted by Cheryl Lucas (Member # 1656) on :
Mike,
I was wonderin' 'bout the frigerated rooms too. But, I ain't so sure 'bout the WinnDixie tho.
Ya recon, if we say cold enuf, we won't have to take a shower?
Cher.
Posted by Ryan E Young (Member # 2325) on :
So Chris and Cobra wont be here either Dennis. You let them know I will be p/oed.

OHH the one down THERE
be careful Yankees, I think theyre luring us down there with visions of paint slinging and plain old fun and comeraderie. While they attempt to send their snaggletoothed relatives up here to overtake the land. While were away playing and just having fun. Send the town cryer out to let everyone know of their plights.

You gotta be kidding me. You are the videographer for the pinstriping video. I had plans to sell millions of videos and retire early. See how all of my well laid out plans go to crap all because one guy is too "busy" to come to SC for three days. Well la-de-da. You don't know what you're gonna miss. Ryan had plans for you too
Man am I disappointed!!!!

I had planned to be there Saturday......However the new house and quite a lot of Sign work to do..is not going to let me attend even for the one day....... My Comnputer has been "Down" for about a week ......Or I would have contacted you sooner........
However I will still ship you 4 (Four) 57 Chevy Prints to give away.
Is the address on Donalds Profile good to go ?????????
