Would really appreciate some help with this one...
I got some questions about an install we're doing. We sold a double sided hanging sign with a bracket. The problem is that the wind on this street is strong. So strong that the old sign broke off the bracket and flew away!
This sign is made of alumalite and will be even lighter than the old one... how would you install a sign like this? Wires are not a possibility here...
The size is: 48" x 48"

David, if you can't use wires then you need cross braces like the ones Cam Bortz puts on his brackets.
I think I would want to use a bracket with 6 anchor points, 2 top, middle, bottom, to spread the load out as much as possible.

David, I just about stay entirely away from swinging signage of any kind any more unless it is ungodly heavy. Any kind of alum. lite weight sign swinging is, for me, just trouble all the time. It bangs around in the wind and gets dinged up, the hardware and the holes in the sign suffer severe wear and that creates rust invitations. I just hate 'em.
Over-the-rod hanger "bands" still move enough on heavy signs to create rust that eventually streaks down my sign. I have taken to cutting a piece of rubber-tire the width of the band and putting under there to see if it will prevent this.
On lighter signs, what I've been doin' is bolting the sign directly thru the eye-bolt piece that is welded on the bracket, but usually I get those taken off and I have flat-bar "tabs" welded on about 1/8" thick x 1 or 1 1/4" wide and ever how long I need them to be. The sign is mounted so as NOT to swing at all but still "looks" like a swinging sign.

Thanks a lot for the help:) We managed to find brackets that will hold the sign in place without swinging. I don't like installs. But I really appreciate the help on here, makes things so much easier.
