Winners
It is my pleasure
to announce the winners of the February 2007 edition of the Sign Of The
Month Contest.
This month featured one of the tightest races in the 3D Ground category
with Chuck Peterson's "Private Road" narrowly edging out Dan Sawatsky's
"Alliance Church" entry.
Mark Yearwood showed his awesome designing skills and fabrication
prowess with his "Two Hearts" taking the Overall Winner. Mark
will collect a prize of a caricature of his choosing from John Deaton.
Now, that is one heck of a prize!
Jill Welsh took the inaugural "Design Workshop Challenge" by narrowly
edging out Alicia Jennings and Michael Bendel. With three votes
separating the three of the them, it could not have been much tighter!
Jill will receive a Createx Paint helmet video for her prize.

This was the main entry sign and part of a 12 sign system for a new
upscale B&B. The owners had seen some work of ours that was similar and
wanted that look.
HDU sandblasted and hand carved, multiple layers, 23k gold leaf, faux
rust finish on border. Sign was painted with Rhino Acrylics.
Size of sign is approx 48''x53''
The bracket was all hand forged by a blacksmith and powder coated.
Hearts on bracket gilded. A file of the ribbons was sent to Ray Chapman
and he roughed them out with the ShopBot router to speed things up, then
they were hand shaped.

Leftover smaltz on back panel. 1/2"plywood for standoff. LED's given to
me at a letterhead meet (run on a 9V.) Red mica powder "blast"
background, silver to kinda mark the hours, 1-shot metallic brass (with
some red mica added to kill the greenish tint), copper mica powder mixed
